Wee Haggis
I found the conversion kit online for turning an Imperial Knight into a Iron Wolf. I bought the parts and they should be here by the end of the week, really looking forward to building it. I would add a picture but i can't seem to do it from work for some reason. (now worked it out hahah) The Weapon it carriers is a (Wolf Ice cannon) Hellfrost Cannon. There seems to be no rules for this weapon, So i was looking to build a data sheet on it, so i can present it to my club to clear it for use in games. Has anyone seen a data sheet for a weapon like it?? If not where do i start building one? If you want to see it Google Iron Wolf Imperial Knight.. if i can add pic's i will Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/ Share on other sites

Wee Haggis
I saw that kit.....isnt it extra ordinary expensive? Please post pictures of the raw material. Well i am in Scotland so had to get it shipped over, and it cost me £100 for the Head, Shoulder guards, claw and Weapon (which i am gonna use magnets on. I am also going with the Rocket pod on the top. I will post pictures when they come in Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/#findComment-4115112 Share on other sites
Dewi Sant
I've also seen the kit and would love to see pictures of the parts when they arrive. As for the rules, there are non. You could play it as either the Cannon or the Melta but you will just have to agree with the person that you're playing first. If you do want to make your own data slate for him, I suggest the rules for the Helfrost Destructor in the current codex would be a good start. I would be more than happy to play against you if you wanted to use him and use the rules the the Helfrost Destructor if you wanted to. You might find it difficult in competitive play though. I suggest that you magntise the weapon so you can swop it out. I will have to look into it more. I don't need it for a few months, so i will take my time and get it right, looking forward to seeing the parts, i know they have been done on a 3D Printer, whihc is something i might be buying. Jolemai
Clear plastic? Really?? That's the 3D print job, right? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/#findComment-4118819 Share on other sites
Daevohk
If you're looking to create your own rules for it, I would call it a rapid fire Hellfrost Destructor and just make it a 2 or 3 shot of the main gun from the Stormfang Gunship with a range extended out to 36". That takes existing rules and modifies them slightly just as a normal knight paladin takes an existing Cannon and makes it rapid fire. So it would look something like Heavy 3, 36" S6 AP3, Helfrost, Large Blast or alternate fire mode, Heavy 3, 36" S8 AP1, Helfrost, Lance Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/#findComment-4118910 Share on other sites
Wee Haggis
Clear plastic? Really?? That's the 3D print job, right? OK, clear plastic was not a good description. They a clear resin, the print is amazing, detail is super clear. there is no cleaning/filing at all needed can be painted straight away, they fit perfect, to where the need to go. I am not sure if you need to wash them first but i will anyway. For what it is worth, i am in Scotland and the communication was amazing i recieved the parts in 4 days, the box could have took the full imperial knight, well packaged. I recommend them 100%. I bought 2 heads, the claw cover, gun and shoulder pads. I will be buying more shoulder pads for the other knights i will be building. I will be posting the Knight build so i hope i can add some clearer, and better photo's If you're looking to create your own rules for it, I would call it a rapid fire Hellfrost Destructor and just make it a 2 or 3 shot of the main gun from the Stormfang Gunship with a range extended out to 36". Daevohk
I think i'd call it about the same point costs as a Knight Paladin, maybe a tad more for the versatility. It is useful shooting, but it isn't amazing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/#findComment-4119104 Share on other sites
Vykryl
I've been trying to crack the VDR but weapons are more difficult than chassis are. Tge Helfrost Destructor is about 40 points. Run it through the VDR for extra 2 shots and extended range and it comes to 100 points. I think maybe 75 at most is reasonable, it's only 36in range versus 72 in range. The rapid fire Battle Cannon is 60 points for 2 large blast at 72in Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/#findComment-4119156 Share on other sites
Wee Haggis
It was no surprise to me that when i put it to the club members they shot it down in flames. There are a few players that don't mind, so i will mag it and just use it where i can. Thanks for the help with rules and stats, when i use it i will let you know how i get on. Wispy
i'd just use it as a count-as-whatever-load-out-i-feel-like-having-that-day. or just use it as melta and pretend the freezing effect is the armor-brittling equivalent of melta. Donkalleone
Its kinda hard to digest that the Material cost doesnt exceed 5€ bucks. Well there is the Prize for the printer but this feels like theft. Lord Blackwood
The parts were just too expensive for me to mess around with. I found using my own extra wolf bits to be a more cost effective means to an end. Though thats not to say they dont look great. Wee Haggis
I suppose its like buying a thunderhawk gunship or making your own from cereal box'es. I had the money and didn't mind spending it to get the end result, i would not be able to make it myself. I am a designer of buildings for a job, and people pay me £40 for a single piece of A1 paper, But they are paying for the design as well as the piece of paper. That's why i have no stress paying whatever they ask, if i want too. :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310725-iron-wolf-imperial-knight/#findComment-4120132 Share on other sites
Wispy
I ended up buying just the head and am waiting for it to arrive. If you're feeling poor like me, you can take the Warden thunderfist and attach Bjorn's true claws to the finger tips to make very convincing claw. The mauler claws this guy used is much too costly and tbh seem oversized to me. I also fashioned the Avenger Gatling Gun into the Avenger Assault Cannon using just a piece of sprue and the nozzle of Space Wolves assault cannon.
