Ulrik_Ironfist
So, with my Airborne themed army, I really like the use of sentinels as units that can go anywhere the infantry can and bring the heavy weapons with them. While I do like the models, I have to say that a heartier weapons system would be nicer. Another model I have a liking for is the nemesis dreadknight, which, of course, is (arguably) the most rage inducing thing yet to hit the tabletop I also have a fondness for giant mech suits. This is something that has probably already been done, but I'm thinking about kitbashing an armored sentinel with a nemesis dreadknight, to create an armored behemoth that will bring the heavy weapons and look imposing on the battlefield. For simplicity's sake I'd be using the armored sentinel's rules and it would be modeled to reflect the weapon options, It would essentially be an armored sentinel cockpit, nestled where the baby carrier would go. I'm wanting to build 2 of these as "demi"-knights. What would y'all think of this? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310756-sentinels/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Wouldn't the NDK be ridiculously big compared to a Sentinel? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310756-sentinels/#findComment-4115599 Share on other sites
hendrik
How about converting something similar to the pentinent engine? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310756-sentinels/#findComment-4115665 Share on other sites
Carraigf
Sounds pretty cool, I toyed with the idea of using some pp war jacks for a bit then opted for drop sentinels. Did find something similar on dakka dakka, link below, may give some inspiration: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/6/20/114370-Jade%20Fists,%20Sentinel,%20Walker.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310756-sentinels/#findComment-4115667 Share on other sites
Ulrik_Ironfist
Maybe a dread knight is too big, but the idea of a sentinel with arms makes me happy, so to save size and money, I might kitbash it with a dreadnought. I wanted to stay away from the chicken walker legs, I wanted a more human bipedal shape, with arms that can grasp things, as I felt that was a bit more efficient than and armless chicken legged walker, in a mountainous environment. I was thinking, with a dreadnought, I'd use a furioso as a base, and maybe lengthen the legs with the sentinel kit. I still think that the Sentinel and the dreadknight kit will go together the best. I'm open to suggestions, of course. I'm trying to think of a kitbash that is fun, and fluffy for mountain troops. Emicus
something like the image for Astra Militarum Support Vehicles on the Forgeworld website? Shame they don't sell the model and just tease with the category picture :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310756-sentinels/#findComment-4115838 Share on other sites
hendrik
the power lifter sentinel from forgeworld (just like all the older, now unavailable support vehicles) is damn sexy! i'm sure it can be replicated in plasticard, though it's rules left it somewhat underwhelming, even for a sentinel! Ulrik_Ironfist
Those are all excellent. Those black ones with the plasma cannons are more along the lines of what I was thinking of.
