cassian dracos
What is the best super heavy vehicle for the legions. A lot of people say that the glaive is good but its gun is to limited, short ranged and has the chance for collateral. the glaive also can't take on proper super heavies. The fellblade is just a crapper baneblade, with its large blast only being 7" and not being AP2, its only advantage over the baneblade is the armour bane template but it is to small. The typhon is a solid choice, it is a super powered vindicator with ignores cover. The Cerberus is overpriced and can hurt itself, the sicaran venator is a better substitute for it. The malcodor doesn't feel like a super heavy to me, it seems to be a contradiction of terms for a super heavy to be a fast vehicle. besides that fact it just don't feel like I get enough bang for my buck. I also don't like the model. The stormblade also seems like a good choice, with its two different fire choices and large template coverage, it seems to be a better baneblade, however its lack of ignores cover will be a pain in the ass. The falchion seems to be the best choice to me, it is a better shadowsword, with the volcano cannon being twin linked and rather than a lascannon and twin heavy bolters it has a quad lascannon. Caillum
I don't think you can put a "Best Super-Heavy" lable on any of them. It's not that simple. Very much dependent on the rest of your army, your meta, and your personal experience. A veteran player can field a Fellblade many times, know it's strengths and weaknesses inside out, and get more out of it than a newbie using a Glaive for the first time. That being said, the Typhon is very solid. It's gun will ruin almost anything you shoot it at. It doesn't obliterate other Super-Heavies, but the Sicaran Venator shuts them down for much less. Cheap enough to field in smaller games, plus you can field 2 in a single LoW slot in larger games. The Eye of Horus podcast mentioned that people field them a lot here in Australia, so that must carry a bit of weight. Kilofix
Apart from Titans, I like the Typhon, Cerberus and Glaive because they can do things that can't be done with just lots of Tanks or Artilllery. Ishagu
Falchion and Typhon are the best, imo, for what they offer. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310894-what-is-the-best-legion-super-heavy/#findComment-4119852 Share on other sites

Ishagu
Are the Baneblade variants available outside of the Imperial Army? I think the only way to get a Baneblade in a singular Legion list is as Perturabo's ride Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310894-what-is-the-best-legion-super-heavy/#findComment-4128754 Share on other sites

Lucien Eilam
The fellblade is just a crapper baneblade, with its large blast only being 7" and not being AP2, its only advantage over the baneblade is the armour bane template but it is to small. Nope. There's more to the game than raw numbers. Space Marine armies typically operate in relatively close proximity to their enemy. The Fellblade's much more accurate, smaller blasts can keep shooting all through the game with minimal risk, where a Baneblade risks wiping out expensive squads entirely with a bad scatter (if you can even find a spot to safely place a 10" template at all). The Fellblade is far superior at the job of supporting Space Marines, and that's ignoring the fact that it's tougher and you can actually take it in a Legion list.
