Radeoctua
"And from the horizon they will not see waves of men. No, they will only see an ocean of steel, crimson as the blood that will bath our tracks, the tide will engulf the earth before them until they all drown under our might." Hey there everyone, new here to B&C and was asked to share my army so far. My army will be a heavily armor based Imperial, um, Astra Militarum Force. They will also have some Skitarii allies which I'm trying to make some fluff for. Any suggestions on that? Anyways, heres an example of the "Crimson Tide" hopefully I can keep working on painting as I have lots of models to strip in order to continue (Last time I played was 5E and since then am restarting many unfinished models with this new scheme) Also for the love of god how can I take proper pictures with good lighting!? Would also love advice as this is my first time actually finishing painting models. http://i.imgur.com/9UMcijy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vcH3np4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Fqq2yl3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JZDJlpR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/23J3GjS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mcSts3l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ya9mqIu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5J7wA1I.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZGCd4mw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1w3MsNU.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wrRP6by.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310941-felthera-crimson-tide-armoured-regiment/ Share on other sites
SW1
The painting is good for a starter. People spend years struggling with getting nice straight clean lines. :tu: Fluff wise if your heavily armoured force you'll need to have more technical support than other units. So that would start to explain a higher than normal level of tech priests. You can also flip it saying the force has been deployed after there was a request for assistance from a Mechanicum exploration fleet. So they're fighting along side some Admec troops. WarriorFish
Great work on the transfers and weathering, it's a good colour scheme that will work well with your AdMech allies :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310941-felthera-crimson-tide-armoured-regiment/#findComment-4119556 Share on other sites
Vel'Cona
The Omnissiah's faithful will go to any lengths to service and protect His holy machines! In terms of background, you can really take this any direction you like. On one hand, you could play your IG as a PDF of a Forgeworld, or simply a regiment raised from a FW. Alternatively, you could explain that your commander has a favorable relationship with the AdMech that gives them access to additional armor/technology assets. The possibilities are really endless here! In either case, I love the models and the bold crimson paint scheme. Keep it coming! Radeoctua
Thanks for the replies and comments guys! I was thinking that my regiments world would be in close proximity to a Forgeworld and they have struck a sort of partnership. The Forgeworld would supply the armoured regiments with the proper supplies and upkeep to maintain such a high number of vehicles and special weapons, without letting any go to disrepair, and in exchange, the Mechanicus may call upon their prefferred units of the regiment to assist and escort their exploration or aquisition forces, no matter the absurdity of the mission even...nothing is free with the Ad Mech, and sometimes they take interest. This would just be a sort of base for whatever I expanded it to. Hopefully I can complete more models in good time! My Skitarii might actually come next as I need to get stripping supplies for the rest of my AM. Would anyone have suggestions on that actually? Vel'Cona
For stripping? Metal models can handle acetone (which is nasty but very effective). Plastic models, Simple Green is non-toxic but there are some slightly nastier products that are more effective (like paint thinner). Just test it out on a sprayed/painted sprue or spare model first to make sure it won't melt your model! Just be prepared to scrub with a solid toothbrush, steel brush, patch of steel wool or sandpaper sponge. A nice pair of rubber gloves will protect your digits, too.
