hendrik
I recently got some unassembled dark angels from the dark vengeance set, minus the bikers. Now I'm wondering as to what chapter i should make these.as an old time space wolves player i already have some connection to the dark angels, but standard astartes give me some nice opportunities too painting/conversion wise. hence this topic, with two questions; First, which codex will provide the best armylist for 5 terminatord,10 tacticals and a librarian and captain? Secondly, what colour sheme would you advise, something similar to my inquisition? Something completely different? Ulrik_Ironfist
Well, Space Wolves and Dark Angels are the two big terminator armies. Codex space marines has other options that I think are more useful than termies. Honestly, supporting your Guardsmen with a 2nd turn termie deep strike is pretty good. WarriorFish
This is a very open question! Paint them as whatever you like, you can't go wrong with a DIY/successor though :) For a general Marine outing I don't think you can do much better than a new codex, so C:SM or C:DA. The former has more flexibility especially if you DIY so I'd recommend that if you're not planning on using something specific to another codex. Ulrik_Ironfist
I'm planning on trying out the Skyhammer Annihilation force. Using my wolves and raven guard chapter tactics. Relentless grav devs sound nasty, and t1 assaults from DSing assault marines sounds like just what the Officer of the Fleet ordered! Still that doesn't help you. I'd try C:SM for the 1st company formation, as a squad of termies and 2 squads of grav'd up sternguard look like pure awesomesauce drizzled over a plate of perfection. A couple of drop pods for the sternguard and that's 2 turns of hurt you can drop (proxing the regular green marines for stern guard vets, or converting them into sternguard).
