sanguine8082
Greetings, I will be playing a Taghmata Omnissiah list in a Warhammer 40k campaign. I have already cleared it with the organizer and he approved. I plan on using as many automata as possible. I am allowed 100 points for my HQ (going to be a Magos Dominus). I was looking for some tactica advice on a list that I was building. I was thinking that my unit of Castellax will be marching straight up the field chewing through infantry and possibly wounding light vehicles. The Darkfire cannons would be focus firing Light Vehicles or terminators (the Magos Dominus would stick with them). The thallax would deepstrike and multi-melta high AV vehicles. The standard thanatar would be general fire support killing any cover campers or infantry that popped out of transports. As far as the Calix? I'm not sure. I was thinking that his lascannon and the haywire template might be nice if I came up against a lot of tanks (IG), but I'm not sure. What do you guys think of his rules, usefulness etc? EDIT: Forgot about the Myrmidons. They would cruise forward in the Triaros killing terminators and possibly vehicles as well. There you have it, my initial thoughts on what I think the list would do, does it seem like it would pan out that way on the tabletop? Without further ado, here's the list. Note: HQ is 100 point allowance that does not count towards the point limit. +++ Campaign 2000 (2090pts) +++ ++ Mechanicum: Taghmata Omnissiah (Age of Darkness) (2090pts) ++ + HQ (100pts) + Magos Dominus (100pts) [Abeyant, Melta Bombs, Volkite Serpenta] + Troops (1010pts) + Castellax Class Battle-Automata Maniple (255pts) [Castellax, Castellax, Castellax] Castellax Class Battle-Automata Maniple (240pts) [Enhanced Targeting Array] ····Castellax [Darkfire Cannon] ····Castellax [Darkfire Cannon] Thallax Cohort (280pts) [Empyrite, Melta Bombs, Multi-melta, 5x Thallax] Thallax Cohort (235pts) [Empyrite, Melta Bombs, Multi-melta, 4x Thallax] + Heavy Support (980pts) + Myrmidon Destructors (430pts) [3x Graviton Imploder, 3x Myrmidon Destructor, Triaros Armoured Conveyor] ····Myrmidon Lord [Graviton Imploder] Thanatar Class Siege-automata Maniple (255pts) [Enhanced Targeting Array, Thanatar] Thanatar-Calix Class Siege-Automata (295pts) Created with BattleScribe Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311029-mechanicum-2k-point-campaign-list/ Share on other sites
Kilofix
You already have a lot that can handle anti-armor. The Thallax, the Myrmidons, etc. I would drop the Calix. Can you handle close combat and horde type opponents? Maybe get some Thrall to screen, or some Vorax even. Emperors Teeth
You don't need to buy the Thallax 'Empyrite' for them to Deep Strike. As Jet Pack Infantry, they already can. This upgrade is specifically for Zone Mortalis games where only Teleportation Deep Striking is possible. Saved yourself some points right there. You might also be better breaking the unit up differently, since you have 9 models: 6x Thallax + 2 Multimelta, Meltabombs 3x Thallax + 1 Multimelta, Meltabombs or 3x 3x Thallax + 1 Multimelta, Meltabombs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311029-mechanicum-2k-point-campaign-list/#findComment-4122611 Share on other sites
