1500 pt tourney list help

Now I play only fluff lists so no allies please. I need some theories on what is best to be taken. I will work up a list and what it will have in it and please add your input.

Libby Lvl 3 with book

2 units of Termis with swords and hammers and 2 Psycannons

2 NDK with Psy cannons Incinerators the sword and the teleport shunt

and if you can fit it a unit of Interceptors

 

but to be honest there are loads of threads on the GK site about different lists

 

the real question what do you like out of the Knights and then work around that

The army lists for GK is really monochromatic. And that's part of why the list section is there; for your researching of ideas. Also, you are up front telling us you play 'fluff lists' so just have fun, and make something you like.

 

But really there is little deviation in most of the lists. Perhaps only Zhukov has of late stepped outside the box and really put some time into dudes in Rhino's. Otherwise it's good ol' Termies/Libbies/NDK's.

It is Sad that Prot and I both agree that the Grey Knights start off a with a general style of List ( admittedly its a good list )

but then there are so Many challenges in trying to get different units to work and to play with  

 

I must say I have of late been enjoying the understatedness of the Champion and have found him to be a brilliant Challenge monster  

but  a tad expensive for what he dose

I run a Libby, 10 GKT, 5 Interceptors, 2 NDK, and Draigo at 1500.

 

It's light, but oh so fun to play.

Absolutely. There's a serious lack of diversity if you want to remain competitive though. So it feels like a lot of repetition.

It is fun to play... the first million times.

I am playing my Ultra's right now. Every build I play seems to have merit. It's driving me nuts because I maybe get my Grey Knights out about 10% of the time right now.

So I'm like a kid in a candy store. Maybe all my builds aren't 'top tier' but the little tweaks go a long way and I can't help but keep making comparisons. I tell myself I will get over the newness and play my GK more often again.... however, it's hard to keep going back to the same lists.

Every one of these new codexes I try, it gives me so many ideas of what -could- be done to GK. But for now, I maybe have.... 2-3 lists (which are very similar) that I keep rotating.

Bro Champ + lvl 3 lib + Tech Marine with 10 purifyers in a land raider crusader

2 x 5 mand Termi squads and a Vindicar assassin

It's fun to play because it's light, fast, and focused. The challenge is in being a better player, not in playing different units because reasons. I guess it must be my age, because I enjoy getting better at the list I like playing, rather than playing something different each time.

Edit: and it takes about 200 games to get good at a specific list. If all you do is hop around trying different things every time, you never give yourself the time to get good.

It's quite possible I'm older than you...

 

How often do you play?

Two to three games a week with at least one tournament every three months from age 14 to 42.

Yea there's no way I can play the same list 3 times a week! I play similar frequency but I have to mix it up

It's all good. I do mix it up a bit, when I add a Knight Errant to push my list 1850.

 

And yes, I have more models, 43 TDA, 35 PA, 3 LRs, 1 SR, 2 NDK. In addition, I have an entire LotD army, a SoB army, and slowing growing IK army. I don't just play one list, but when I do, it's a Draigo Shunt Bomb list!
