New HH novel - Cybernetica

Going by the title, I think we might see just why the 40k cybernetica has become a shadow of its crusade-era self.

Based on what was said by Alan Bligh at the open day...

The 30k cybernetica have the cortex which is animal level intelligence. Instinct if you will.

40K cybernetica are programmed with punch cards. No ability to finction independantly at all.

And yes exterminatus of mars would do that to you.

I can get behind there being shattered Legions bros who were around but an Ultramarine? Theyll have to give a pretty damn good explination as to why he wasnt at Calth..

Imperial Fist - "An Ultramarine? What are you still doing here?"

Ultramarine - "Well, when the Legion stopped over on it's way back to Calth, I went to the rest room. When I came out the bus had gone..."

The Skitarii showing up looking all 40k there is interesting. Probably not worth reading into all that much but I do wonder if we'll see backwards-compatible rules for those figures in 30k, or maybe FW conversion kits that bring them in line with how they envision them in 30k?

Also that Raven Guard Legionary must get sick of people mistaking him for an Iron Hand.

I figured since they all appear to be Techmarines they were there for training and got caught up in the action.

Well, two of them definitely look the part with the servo arm and the mechadendrites, respectively, and you could in theory get away with attributing the Raven Guard as a techmarine too but what about the Fist and the Ultramarine? Neither of the look particularly techmarine-ish (barring the bionic eye)...
