Kastor Krieg
Sub-standard voice over is sub-standard. Think I'll pass on this trash. Yeah, because you're fully informed as to the game's quality to call it 'trash'. Brother Captain Ed
From Neocore Games! The Hungarians who brought you... B- games about King Arthur and Van Helsing... Color me cautiously optimistic. Actually the King Arthur and Van Helsing games were surprisingly good. They weren't groundbreaking or cutting edge, but I got far more than my money's worth from them and that's a lot more than I can say about many games I've bought lately (including some AAA ones). This will be good. Not great. Not amazing. Nothing that will make your friends say "OMG I can't believe I didn't like 40k before now, forgive me." But it will be good. I am looking forward it. Joe
Yeah, because you're fully informed as to the game's quality to call it 'trash'. If you can't afford a decent voice actor in this day and age then you're one of either two things; an indie developer or a trashy developer. Given NeocoreGames' track record in relation to the King Arthur and Van Helsing series' they don't exactly inspire the faith of the masses. I'll stick with the Space Hulk games and Dawn of War for the time being. Never ever EVER judge a game by its trailer. According to Dead Island's trailer, it should have been a genius 11/10, yet is was mediocre. In turn, I was not really inspired by the D3 RoS trailer and yet it is a game I really liked. Besides, that wasn't even a full trailer. No gameplay, no plot. Just a teaser that something 40k related in coming. If you can judge the quality by that, then you should work as a reviewer in the video game industry. You would make top dollar with that efficiency :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311142-wh40k-inquisitor-%E2%80%93-martyr-new-game-announced/#findComment-4123102 Share on other sites

The best description I've seen is that of glorified bloggers. That's fair. You can't blame me for being a bit cautious given Neocore's track record; it's a bit comparable to the Ubisoft situation at the moment. The trailer can look nice, and fancy and visually pretty; yet the final product isn't that great. The same applied to Dead Island. Still, the voice acting was awful; and it's awfully off-putting. They needed some Kent Williams in there. Zeller
Visuals look cool. Standard boring voice modulation sucks though. Plus, as always, the video teaser itself kinda blows. Scribe
Man, tough crowd. I couldnt care less about the trailer, or pre-alpha buy in. Will there be a demo, or when can I actually try the game. Little else counts really as more than fluff. Not the good kind of fluff either. Ironwrought Huw
The concept for the game sounds promising, so I'll be following this with interest. One request (should anyone from the dev team be reading) - please, for the love of all that is holy, don't use that voice in the actual game. Or in anything else for that matter. Strazhakov
Looks kinda meh but I will probably end up buying it anyway, like I did every other 40k title before, crappy or not. I can't help myself but the need for Warhammer vidya is just too strong. FerociousBeast
"This game looks like rubbish." "You don't know that it's rubbish! You haven't played it yet! It hasn't been released yet!" "Oh yeah? I know. I KNOW!" "No you don't! And I will restate the reasons why!" - every game announcement thread ever GW has been pursuing a quantity over quality approach with their video games lately, so I'm not optimistic. Firepower
Sounds ambitious, but vague. Not much of anything to go on in judging whether or not it'll be a good game. But then of course, there's an equal lack of grounds for saying it'll be a bad game. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311142-wh40k-inquisitor-%E2%80%93-martyr-new-game-announced/#findComment-4123165 Share on other sites
Vel'Cona
Mordheim will always and forever be the best game released by GW. The video game is really just reviving the legacy. Stormborn
well another 40k video game, trailer was pants but there have been some awesome trailers for rubbish games. Real problem is that its going to be action RPG and there will be some stiff competion for sales there in the forthcoming year could be worse could be FPS. Guess its wait and see time, hoperfully this will be offline singleplayer or I won't be buying. A Necromunda game would be awesome if done right. Stormxlr
Yeah, because you're fully informed as to the game's quality to call it 'trash'. Given NeocoreGames' track record in relation to the King Arthur and Van Helsing series' they don't exactly inspire the faith of the masses. I'll stick with the Space Hulk games and Dawn of War for the time being. Full Control the devs of Space Hulk and Space Hulk Ascension have gone bankrupt, while their games were stellar in the eyes of 40k fans they did not enjoy the mass appeal that DoW did, apparently mostly due to how hard the games were and relatively unknown IP among video gamers. For example none of my friends have bought Space Hulk or even tried it from torrents, it simply did not interest them. GW has been pursuing a quantity over quality approach with their video games lately, so I'm not optimistic. In my opinion they are going double way, they have number of cheap projects for quantity and a number of high profile AAA titles for quality. To name a few, Total War:Warhammer, Deathwing, ummored DoW III, Warhammer End Times Vermin Tide, Eternal Crusade, Blood Bowl 2. Then you have all those lil crappy flash games for mobile market like Storm of vengeance and Kill Team, warhammer quest, chainsaw warrior , upcoming Eisenhorn game that might turn out good. But there are more good warhammer games then bad ones out in the moment. To name some that are out at the moment but are not AAA titles ; WH40k Armageddon was very well received by Steam crowd, Space Hulk and Ascension were well received aswell but did not enjoy high number of sales. Warhammer 40k Regicide was extremely well received and its still in Early Access, Mordheim was recieved quite alright but the development is quite slow and it seems that some fans are not happy with the way the games is developed. You have some other games still coming out like Battlefleet Gothic that we know nothing about. I am sure I missed some games so please do feel me in on those. Lucien Eilam
NeocoreGames also promises that, after the campaign concludes, the story will continue “in a colossal sandbox game” that the developer claims will give players “years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content that enriches the action-RPG gameplay.” What is it with game developers and claiming an insanely ambitious brief as soon as they get a 40k licence. It's like the moment the paperwork is signed they all turn into 14 year old boys with hopelessly unrealistic wish lists. I'll believe it when I see it. Charlo
This. Really just a nice contained story in a 40k setting with some careful nods and hints to the larger universe is fine. Like Space Marine.
