1500 Pts Death Guard: The Foot Sloggers

Hey all. You might remember me from the June painting challenge thread, or when I had another thread up not so long ago. I thought it was time I updated the army list I made then, because in a week's time not only will I be in England, but I'll be making plans to visit Warhammer world and make some purchases. I will note below what is planned as a purchase, as well as what my reasoning is behind each choice, but I am looking for feedback too.

Firstly, the concept: I wanted a Death Guard Army with as few Transports as possible. I did eventually cave and get one, but in essence it's one of my only anti-tank units so...

As for why Death Guard? Aesthetics. I originally wanted to try a World Eater army with Red Butchers, but in the end decided I'd rather lessen the amount of transports I have, as my CSM army already has two rhinos, a Land Raider and is getting another Rhino soon. Also given my area, this is an army designed around the 40K rules and FO Chart

Alright, onto the list.

HQ

Legion Praetor with Terminator Armor, Combi Flamer, Melta Bomb and Deathshroud Power Scythe (152pts)

Deathshroud Command Squad, 4 Deathshroud (190pts)

(Right, so, this is something that I've not been sure about this was made during the time of only having book 4 out. Since then I know more choices have been added to consuls, and my possible Terminator choice has been moved from elites to Heavy Support. However I'm quite fond of the mental Imagery of the five scythe armed terminators forming the core of the army. Plus they're supported by another choice of mine.)

(Incidentally this is one of my planned Purchases. Five Deathshroud make for a good Praetor and command)

Troops

2 Squads of 15 Tacical Marines with a Vexalla, a Nuncio-Vox and a sergeant in Artificer armor with a Power Weapon each. (245pts a unit)

(The core of my army. I've always wanted to try a Space Marine army of some kind with a massive group of marines. These are already partly purchased too, all I lack are 5 Marines, the Vexalla and Nucino Vox. Conversions are planned for my Sergeants)

Elites

2 Apothecaries with Artificier armor and power swords (130pts total, attached to the two tactical squads)

(Of course, if I'm going to have big units, I'll also have FNP to back them up and make them seem like Plague Marines almost. These two have already been done up, assembled and painted for my painting vow, hence why they are said to have swords explicitly.)

Heavy Support (Here's where things change a bit from my first few lists)

Spartan Assualt Tank. (295pts. One of my only two sources of Anti Armor. The reason it's bare bones is to accomidate choice number 2, but I am looking for advice on this one. The idea is that, if needed, it can transport the Deathshroud)

(It goes without saying that this will be a new purchase)

Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought with Aiolos Missle Launcher and Armoured Ceremite (240pts. This is choice number 2, although the Ceremite might just get switched to the Spartan. Originally his place was taken by the areal shooting Contemptor, but after seeing the model for this one, I got too interested. I am willing to take advice here though)

(New purchase as well)

Thoughts?

I like your core choices. Here's my few comments based on what little I think I know :)

I feel your troops and deathshroud lack meltabombs considering you have only two anti armour units.

Check the deathshroud rules for unique modelling, you might need to convert your praetor a bit more. I'm sure they will definitely need their transport. Have you considered augury scanners in case of a 40k drop pod heavy enemy? Do model the vox troops, but I'm not sure you need the points spent given your lack of barrage.

Are you planning a future points increase?

Best of luck in England!

Argh, I knew I forgot one detail! Yeah, one of the thing mentioned in the last thread was the Melta Bombs for the Deathshroud, which has been a constant.

I haven't, but that's mostly because every 40K game I've had at my local GW lacks droppods. I plan to model the voxs anyway, but the Apothecaries are assembled and painted at this point.

I am considering a future increase to 2000, but aside from increasing the unit size, buffing the spartan and possibly adding a special weapon squad (all plasma for that Plague Marine feel, most likely) I haven't got much planned for it

And I know the Praetor will need a bit of modeling to make him work. I like a challenge.
