Good Camera for taking Pics of Minis.

Got a smartphone or a tablet? If so, the camera in that is probably easily good enough for what you’re likely after, and I’d advise you to invest some of that £150 in some cheap photographic lights (decent ones can be had for €8 a piece around where I live) and one of those portable photo studios.

This is not in the price range you mention, but smart phones are a good investment here. A Samsung Galaxy has, I think, the best Camera on the smartphone market (16 megapixlles or something insane) but is not quite Apple prices. Plus, you can use to do things such as: check B&C on the go :-D That said I use an iPhone 6. Sorry if this doesn't help you at all.

Personally I've found the camera's on nokia smartphones to be very good for price (use a Nokia 630 £90 price last year). There was a nokia 1080 possibly with a 22 mega pixel camera or something similar. Also as mentioned above lighting is prob as important as camera, there's a guide on the board for taking good photos.

HERE is a good guide.

As far as camera, look in to a camera that has a macro function. Getting close really helps.
Right of the back of my head Canon IXUS 160 is one of the cheaper cameras with macro. I goes at my local photography supplier for £70-£80 (950 SEK). I have no idea how good that camera is since I'm far ahead of consumer cameras and my last camera I bought cost me £2500.

But as many say, you can come a long way with a phone/tablet camera and good light.

My phones camera is totally crap smile.png... I have a tablet but again the camera is not super.

That’s what many people think, when it’s actually often the case that they just don’t know how to take decent photos with it smile.png Usually it’s a matter of using better lighting and learning a little about the possibilities of the camera app (on iOS, for example, you can tap where you want to focus and set brightness — no idea about Android or Windows Phone). Take a look at this post of mine from a few months ago, for example.
