(THIS IS A PLOG WITH IMAGES TO COME LATER DON'T MOVE)

I have been working on this force a little while now as i want to build all 3 Ordo's.

My sisters cover the Ordo Hereticus, Deathwatch Ordo Xenos & Grey knights are ongoing but the cover the rest.

Now I also have a large pure inquisition force I am still working on but I have been trying to get my Death Watch to Tournament play levels.

Model wise I am part way in and will post some images later but I want peoples opinion on the force first.

Now as the Deathwatch training world is in the Ultramar system I am able to excuse using their tactics for rerolls in game.

I have decided like many to use the Sky Hammer Annilation force to allow my devs to move turn 1 from pods and assault squads to charge from deep strike without couinting towards the rest of my pods.

Now as it stands I am heavily considering Having 2 empty pods so all my troops arrive turn 1 but modeling servo skulls into the pod so when it opens it looks like there are dozens of them spilling out in all directions.

More a modeling thing than anything else.

Squad wise I have tried to keep them all in action cover in battle damage and gore, not weathered yet but I will likely do that at the end on mass.

Centurions in the force will deply with Librarian but trying to figure out how to make them look more like Deathwatch.

Inquisitor is taken for fluff as well as allowing servo skulls which will reduce my scatter which is great for my assault squads as they can arrive within D6 and assault turn 1 and not risk mishap.

I have posted the list below and will update with images later.

Let me know what you think.

I promised Images and i'm here to deliver.

As I said with the following force I still do plan to weather them but have tried to go for an individual gory look where each model could be a character in their own right.

Normally I always use helmets as well but for this force i have used bare heads to add more character to the models, the only exception is the Librarian conversion.

At some point I am also going to name every model in the force and write their names on the bases.

I will say however my main skills are in modeling not painting so do forgive me, also as my camera is a potato I have had to take these pictures under a spot light so they are not so bright in person.

Any feedback and tips however are welcome. :)

I think thats the kneeling one. lol

I like to have the mid battle pose and in warfare folks tend to lower their profile to reduce the target area in whihc they can be hit thus running crouching etc.

Besides nothing looks so good as firing two gunds at once. ;)

Still got allot I am working on but they are unpainted, some are part built, some have base coat, some are grey plastic.

Either way i'm not alloed a new force till I finish this one. :P

I don't know why I didn't comment on this thread this morning. Eh, I'm forgetful. Anywho, great looking stuff so far! There is certainly a lot of blood and even some gore. Nice.

Question on a pauldron: in the group photo with the Combi-gravs, what shoulder pad does the back row, furthest right marine have? It has a blue field with what looks like a cross- Christian style, not Death Company saltire.

Keep it up !

Cheers mate.

I'm trying to keep them looking gritty in the heat of battle in dammaged plate, blood fresh on their blades from rapid deployment.

Drop pod ramps down charging forth, bolters spitting death, every swing of a fist fracturing bone, every slash of a weapon eviserating a foe as they move forward not missing a step as the foe breaks under their iron boots.

Space marines in the lore are all but unstopable warriors where as in the game mechanic they are not so I am trying to recapture the old graphic novel feel of Marines where they would snap your neck with nothing but a back hand swipe of their hand or weapon with zero effort.

The Model you are looking at is wearing an astral claws shoulder pad, they are Luft Hurons chapter from the Badab war, however as you always have marine in warp travel, off on missions or sent off to work with the death watch odds are some would of survived and upon finding out what had happened if they were still loyal to the imperium a few would likely of pertioned other chapters to join their ranks where as some may of took a never ending crusade of penence to atone for their chapter or even join with the death watch as the remains of their once great chapter or even join the death watch as a black shield expunging themselves of that chapter.

Nice poses and bits use, I've sometimes thought of a DW team. I like the blood, did you use Blood for the Blood God? I find it great especially with a bit of gloss on top, I'm looking to do more fancy blood effects though :smile.:

I did use Blood for the Blood God, to be honest it is glossy in person but does not look it in pictures.

I find it works best ina  few layers as when it starts to dry it gets very sticky and starts to clump intodarker masses which makes it look like tissue when you paint it like chunks of hair from your scalp matter with blood as they have smashed you in the face as they went by.

just trying to keep everyone very characterful as I make the force but by god its killing me. :P

I'm trying to figure out some cool new poses and blood effects for crushing skulls under boot etc.

Should have a update tonight with some built guys waiting paint.

Been painting inquisition for a tournament and still need to finish 6 of them had to stall this for another 2 weeks so I can finish them

Questioning Comments:    Ordo Xeno (fluff and some crunch)

What?  no Librarians?  (think Eldar)  Oh there he is... dead last, like an afterthought.  :biggrin.:

You started your list with Centurians?  :huh.: as if it was the core of your force?  (and yes, i keep forgetting that gravs are AP2, and thus the grav spam in the game now.)  I assume you kept the hurricane bolters on them, yes?

Where are the rules for Sky Hammer Assault Forces?:furious: (dataslates?)

My librarian is my HQ but I like to customize him more than anything else, due to that I like to place him last so i know what points I have to play with.

I use my Devastators as my hammer but the Centurions are more durable and hit that little bit harder so I like to run them with the librarian for rerolls to target problem units.

That said I take White scars tactics on the Main cad these days and ultra on the formation so I can use hunters eye on the centurions and ignore cover.

Works a treat.

They always come with the bolters but thats a basic option no need to list it.

Skyhammer Allows you to chose to arrive turn 1 or 2 without rolling all at the same time without contributing to the amount of drop pods or reserves that can be brought in on that turn, also allows assault squads to charge the turn they deep strike and devastators to shoot after they move on the turn they come in.

The army is based around the first heavy blow, kill half your foes minimum before they can respond which really stops them from striking back and should see you mopping up turn 3.

I have since refined the list however and now it runs allot smoother and hits allot harder.

I'll be making another post later tonight with a few teaser images.
