Chaos Horde - Chaos Marines/Daemon Last Update 18/08/15

Hello,

 

Im making a 40k Chaos Marine / Daemon army to hit the tournament scene with, the list is made but I want the army to have a theme and look good on the table top, the list is semi competitive and made up of a majority of models I like heres a break down on my progress

 

Blood Thirster - Undercoated 18/07/15

Not sure how many stars are too many, I want to keep a random look to the model while not over doing it.

A bit more of an update, not that im going for a khornedeamonkin army, it would be nice to keep the option open, so have made the following from the age of sigmar box set, (I got the chaos stuff in trade, I mainly wanted the big beast to be used as a spawn), so got the following, i know cultists cant use bolters but a generic laspistol just look tiny in their hands,

So been quiet the last week as iv been away, but busy building 30 horrors, aswell as playing around with ideas for my Deamon Prince ;

 

Not sure to add the above arms, I like the idea of him having slightly smaller more feeble hands for casting magic, 

 

 

Mock up of the staff so far, defiantly want to model with a staff as its very Tzentchy, not sure what to add, thinking of shortening the shaft,

 

Spent some time on making the above, the idea will be im going to cast them beginning of next week,

 

This project will properly kick off from next week, iv got my last tournament this weekend using my imperial guard, as this new army will be replacing them, so hopefuly regular updates will start to flow,

A couple of WIP shots of my Deamon Prince, the arms are blu-taced in place and the staff comes apart from now need to work on some decoration, but the biggest task for me will be sculpting wings (suck a sculpting)

I like the bird headed prince. The angle of the top bit of the staff looks a little off to me though, can we get more angles of it?

Hey guys thanks for the responses, over the last week not got as much done as I would have liked, however got the following done ;

 

HQ choices all undercoated; Blood Thirster of D str goodness, Be'Lakor, Fateweaver and Deamon Prince of Tzentch

 

Added models for summoning; 8 Screamers, Gorgefiend from a chaos chariot (possible spawn ?), Exalted Flamer, Herald on Disc (going to go for 4 of these eventually) 

 

Heldrake all sprayed up in parts, as I want to do something special with the airbrushing, along with extra bits for daemon prince and blood thirstier. 

 

Found this guys this evening while cleaning from an old Chaos Marine Army I was working towards a few years ago, may try to get him up to scratch for my army.

 

Pink Horrors all assembled and just need cleaning up and undercoating.

 

Torn between using the Blood Reavers from the new AOS set or generic Cultists as my cultists, at the moment I only need 10 with close combat weapons as the min requirements for my chaos allied detachment, however im moving towards to the Blood Reavers as this will make it easier astheticaly when im using cultists in a deamonkin list..... 

 

 

And finally, bases are ready to be cast, so here they are prepared before they get a nice coating of silicone. 

 

So my goals by next week are as follows;

 

• Undercoat 40 Horrors
• Undercoat 10 Cultists (this could well be 2 lots of 10)
• Figure out staff for Tzeentch Daemon Prince
• Start Airbrushing !

Affraid not, not used Hirst stuff before,
