Quixus
The Invictarus Suzerain Squad clearly have a double headed eagle on their helmets. I thought that prior to the heresy the Imperial Aquila was restricted to the Emperor, his gear/vehicles and the Emperor's Children. So has this unit been created later or has FW mentioned why they are allowed to wear the Emperor's symbol? Brother-Chaplain Kage
The Imperial Aquila is allowed to be worn by other Legions. The Palatine Aquila is the personal icon of the Emperor and what the III Legion wears. Leif Bearclaw
So is the only difference the lack of lightning bolts on the Imperial? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311523-suzerain-aquilas-outside-the-ec/#findComment-4129596 Share on other sites
Marshal Rohr
No, the only difference is the style and spread of the wings. In the same way the American eagle is not the same seal as the imperial German eagle, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311523-suzerain-aquilas-outside-the-ec/#findComment-4129599 Share on other sites
Chickenleg
There is also a battle honor in the form of the classic aquila called Aquila Miltaris, HH book 1 page 76.
