vulkan the Emperor's heir

Recommended Posts

So I had a random thought earlier.

Maybe the reason vulkan was designed as a perpetual is that if the emps died vulkan would replace him. So my reasoning is vulkan is a perpetual so he would never not be there. He is the primarch who cares for humanity individually and as a whole the most.

Before anyone says that he couldn't power the astronomicon in a perfect world magnus would be on the golden throne.

Hum, that is an interesting theory... However, I don't know if the Emperor could design him as a perpetual (It might be in one of the books I haven't read). I know that he is part of the Trifoil (along with Alpharius Omegon and Leman Russ), but it seems like perpetuals have more links with the Cabal than with the Imperials...

Also, the story of how the Emperor meets Vulkan would suggest that he didn't know that he was immortal... except if it were a way of teaching him the value of loyalty, or, more likely, a demi-retcon on the part of Games Workshop.
