How would you stat Lord Solar Macharius?

Hmm. Much has changed since 3rd Ed but not really the stats so I think they can stay the same pretty much so it's a case of equipment and special rules. Surely some form of Creed order giving bonuses would be essential as well as a suitably heroic rule to represent his inspirational presence?

 

Does anyone know what his old rules were? It would be easier to start with them and improve them for the modern game.

Without posting stat for stat, he's essentially a colonel with Ld 10. He had this annoying random WS and A score to represent his old war wounds.

 

Gear: master crafted bolt pistol and power sword, carapace armor, his Crimson cloak (counted as a trade mark item; reroll morale and pinning) and helm of macharius (3++).

 

Rules:

Commanding presence units within 12" use his Ld for morale and pinning.

Ferocious charge: +d3 attacks on charge instead of 1.

Master strategist: may chose to go first.

 

Cost: uhh.... [35x meltabombs]- 2 bolt pistol upgrades.

 

Edit: he has 4 wounds.

Oh, he's also an independent character and doesn't replace a colonel in a commander squad.

Oh yeah I remember the random stats, that was silly. Updating his commanding presence to allow units to use his Ld for orders is obvious, plus his shiny cloak should extend to orders. Dishing out three orders a turn seems fair too.

Going a touch further back (2ed). Creed base plus, ws+2, bs+2, s+1, t+1, w+1, i+3, a+1.

Same special rules as above, plus and they shall know fear esq leadership rule.

That kind of puts him on equalise terms with calgar which is probably a touch overpowered.
