I agree. It is like why asking why there isn't an Anti MEQ version of the Heavy Bolter, to which the answer is the Vulcan Megabolter or Avenger Bolt Cannom, but that is a scout titan class weapon system/superheavy type or nose mounted heavy gun for an aircraft; conversely, we have the Carronade/Cheirovile which can deal with Heavy Infantry in a pinch.

A couple of little bits relating to your first post summary, simison. First my legion is the Grave Stalkers in the Legion Sizes. And secondly you have Azus down as being found twice! He is currently both the 5th and the 13th Primarch to be found and Niklaas hasn't been found at all :)

Azus was supposed to be one of the later ones, so 5th spot could go to Niklaas.

Fixed.

I think my .ain question at this point is what happens with psykers without the council of Nikia? This alternative universe has several psyker Primarchs so it is still likely going to become a problem. Does the Emperor simply dismiss any attempts to regulate psykers?

After the death of Magnus, our two psyker Primarchs are both seers, masters of divination. And even if they went haywire, we have multiple Primarch pariahs. So the Emperor probably thought things were more balanced and none of the Psykers seem to overstep their bounds after Magnus, so there would be no point. Nobody dabbling in sorcery like Magnus.

Didn't Mikhail's post.

Ditto what they said. Nikaea was convened specifically because Magnus had been abusing the limits of what he could do in the Warp. Were it not for him, it's most likely that the Emperor would've simply ignored Mortarion's and Russ' requests. Even then, Russ is worried (justifiably) about what lengths Magnus goes to. Mortarion, while having a general distrust of Psykers, seems to specifically react against Magnus' case.

In our universe, Magnus is found so late that he never develops that reputation for going further than he should, which doesn't taint the Librarius.

Hey, I had a grand thought earlier today. I'm honestly not sure how plausible this would be. But! what if in a year or so for the anniversary of the start of this we got together for a weekend played a MASSIVE Apocalypse game and did stagings and photo shoots of some of the more famous battles?

I mean I don't know how logistically plausible it is for everyone. But this feels special and one of the best homebrew timelines I've ever seen in twenty years of playing. So I thought it might be worth it, at least mentioning and discussing to see if people would be interested and it'd be plausible.

That depends mostly on if ill have a proper representative army (I might just paint any White Scars I do in the Hospitalier scheme to get two birds with one stone) which will be hard enough and, biggest of all: how far most/some would have to travel.

Luckily for me Im used to going back and forth between SE Asia and the East Coast NA on a Near-Yearly basis so the only thing holding me back would be funds :p

...it would be pretty damn cool if it happened though!

I would love if this were to happen. But for me it probably won't be viable anytime soon, unfortunately. I haven't got any models for this force yet and the combination of no spare funds and my interminably slow painting rate means I might make it to a 5th year anniversary if I'm lucky.

Also, just to make everyone aware, one of my Legion Specific wargear options, the Wave Blade (on mobile atm, cant link), has section written in that it was sometimes awarded as a token of respect by the Hospitaliers to any exceptional commanders of inter/multi- Legion operations involving the Scions.

This means that, loyalists and traitors alike, I'm giving y'all the option to include as something some of your characters might own or even as an actual piece of wargear present on their profiles, were you so inclined.

I don't know how plausible this would be for me, I'm still in school AND I live in Australia, and we are out of the way of just about everything down under :laugh.: But definitely a good idea!

Of course, not everyone would have to be there, but it could be a special battle that you write into the fluff according to its outcome : Imagine players creating an equivalent of the dropsite massacre, but with no known outcome ^^

And I'm in Chicago. So is Depthcharge, if he is still doing this.

++++

And also, I'm really unsure of what the size of the Lightning Bearers should be. In the cannon, they were destroyed by the 100th year of the Great Crusade so they were relatively large at 90k then. considering they had an extra century to expand (plus the large base of recruits from their pocket empire (The Sphere) around Madrigal and the Maelstrom, I feel like they would probably be one of the Largest Legions.

In canon, I believe at least three legions hit the 200,000 mark. I know the Ultramarines and the Word Bearers did. In my lore, the Wardens hit 150,000 right before they became a Lost Legion, so my 200,000 number is actually pretty conservative. Thus, Athrawes, feel free to bump the Lightning Bearers up past the 200,000 mark.
