The bling needs it, the bling demands it. Gwal believes only in the emperor, the light and the bling, so slaaneesh wouldn't had a chance to turn him...( if he hasn#t had per chance a more blingy armor^^)

Maybe Gwal's our real Sanguinius equivalent. Not vain, just blinged to the nines.

Besides, he can't see Slaanesh to be tempted by him.

Because of his pariahness or because the light reflecting off his armour blinds him?

Welll... you are doing the questoris familiaris right?

Indeed, I'm working on the Knight Households. ;)

Got ideas for 5 ones but I'll sort the most interesting out to work on them for the appropiate book.

Threadnapping^^

A pic of Gwalchavad fighting during the Siege of Terra against Berserkers of Uran and Eagle Warriors. Humming this song while fighting^^

The pic was provided by Eric Tan from DeviantArts.

Stop posting all this bling! Someday we'll be blind because of that. Three threads and everytime it's like I looked into the sun for too long, seeing stars when I close my eyes. ;)

Even Slaanesh needs some sunglasses to look at Gwal.

When Gwal enters a room, it's like this

And with that, ladies and gents, I'll close post number 500! :D

Do we have any Chosen of (insert Dark God here) picked out? I think Khorne has a couple of candidates, particularly Slynnat (though I don't know how that plays with his Old Blood stuff). How about the other three/four?

Okay, guys, we seriously need to stop with this rotating tech curse.

A couple days ago, a friend of my brother's offered to fix my broken desktop for free. I took the offer and was happy to see that my 7+ year old desktop was working again. One problem, the mouse I was using was old and starting to break. Whenever I clicked once, it would double click. Thought 'no biggie', I'll replace it with the mouse I'm using with my desktop. It's only a couple of years old, with my desktop working again, I planned on cutting back on my laptop usage.

I plug it in with the old mouse still plugged in. Not sure if that caused everything to go wrong, but, either way, the new mouse wasn't working. Instead I get a message that the USB device isn't recognized/corrupted. I'm confused because it was working earlier that day. I take out the old mouse to see if that helps. No, it doesn't. I'm frustrated but decide to switch back to the old mouse. I take it out my laptop's wireless mouse receiver and plug in the old one. Now that one isn't working at all. In fact, it gets the same message as the wireless mouse.

My wife, trying to be supportive, offers her mouse for a try. I try, and it also doesn't work. With each mouse, I try several different ports, but it doesn't matter. Not one of them will work with the desktop which just repeats that the USB connection isn't recognized/corrupted. That's why I made my earlier post. I was desperately trying to figure out how to work a PC and make a forum post using the keyboard alone. That was frustrating.

But the latest and worst blow happened just a few minutes ago. I had given my wife's mouse back to her earlier. When I come home from work, she tells me the mouse isn't working with her laptop anyway. Rage rising, I immediately check my wireless mouse and plug it back into my laptop. Not only is it not working, but now the laptop is running three times slower than what it was just a day ago.

Can anybody tell me what the heck is going on or do I need to do an exorcism!?

Can't help you, sry. I'm not an expert. If I won't forget it, I'll ask our IT manager today.

Companion piece I had the idea to write after seeing the new art of Gwal

Garro swung his chainsword, it's teeth biting deeply into the Eagle Warrior's neck, chewing through flesh and bone alike. When he at last withdrew the blade, nothing remained of the traitor's neck but a thin string of gristle from which the head hung limply. Then, as he looked down to reload his bolter, he felt something slam into his helm, shattering the right eye lense and denting the area around it. When he looked in front of him, he saw a Berserker, his lower face obscured by a face mask and a crazed gleam in his eyes. Before Garro had time to react, the marine slammed his fist into Garro's stomach three more times before pile driving his fists into Garro's chest. When his onslaught ended, Garro was barely able to stand. Vomiting blood into the grille of his helm, he looked at the flashing runes on his left lens display. Broken bones. Severe internal bleeding. More disturbing were the three Berserkers now closing in on Garro, the original brute with his blood drenched gauntlets and two more who were revving chain axes. While Garro readied his chainsword, he knew it was futile. He died here, now, beneath the burning skies of Terra and in the shadow of Eternity Gate.

Then, a golden blur came between him and the Berserkers, scything through them in the space of few seconds, sending droplets of blood flying across the battlefield. As the blur became stationary, it came into focus. Gwalchavad, primarch of the XII legion. Drawn to him like moths to a flame, Eagle Warriors and Berserkers of Uran charged at him like men possessed and he cut them all down as soon as they came within his range. Scything through chests, heads and necks he was an avatar of death, dealing death in short, controlled, fluid motions to his foes.

As a fresh wave of Eagle Warriors charged, bolters blazing, Gwalchavad said "Eternity Gate holds", his voice, despite the soft, almost whisper like tone carrying across the entire battlefield over the sound of bolters and artillery. Slamming his armoured fist into his chest plate, Garro roared "NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER GIVE IN!" and charged back into the fray, chainsword in hand.

Just wanted to make sure my idea for Mycenae doesn't sound too similar to any other mini empire(mainly that founded by the Warbringers later on)

The reason for the increase in numbers(and for those numbers being put out of the firing line early Insurrection) is that the Crimson Lions are going to need to have the numbers left to fight the Shadows Crusade(consisting of two and a bit legions) and at Terra(no cake walk) and so their original size just wasn't large enough for their role.

Like some of their brother legions, notably the Lightning Bearers, the Crimson Lions were in possession of an empire, the empire of Mycenae, an extension of their primarch's will stretching across a large portionof the north western Imperium around the Eye of Terror. However, unlike some other legion controlled mini empires within the Imperium, the Crimson Lions controlled their worlds in person rather than delegating such a task to other humans. At the top of this system of command were the Tiarnii, lords of dozens of world, hand picked by Hectarion to govern sections of his empire. Beneath them are the Riornai, or Kings, rulers of just a single world. Like a king, a Riornos controls everything on his world, its defences, its PDF etc. and while answerable to the Tiarnii, the Riornai are still individuals of immense power. Beneath the Riornai are the Comhaldai. The Comhaldai deal with individual aspects of rulership of one world, so one will the Comhaldaios Saghaidut, the Comhaldaois of the muster, responsible for the PDF while another commands the fleet etc. Finally, there are the Goldaiar, the Guardians. On every world ruled by the IIIrd legion, there is a contingent of Goldaiar, a garrisson of Crimson Lions to aid the PDF in the defense of the world. However, despite their vital role, the Goldaiar are not listed on the IIIrd legion Orders of Battle and given that the Crimson Lions often neglect to provide more information than that(often less) to the Administratum, the Goldaiar go unrecorded by Imperial beaurocracy so while the official strength of the IIIrd legion is 130,000, this is just those brethren on the frontlines of the Great Crusade and so, factoring in estimated Goldaiar numbers, the Crimson Lions could be far numerous. Estimates vary, with the lowest putting them at around 180,000 while the highest(often dismissed as fantasy) put their numbers at 230,000, although this is likely a wild exageration.

The disadvantage of working with this timeline and knowing roughly where it goes is that your imagination often jumps head. To whit, the Bears vs Eagles tank battle might eventually be folded into this:

Cadian Gate

(BL style artwork of Hothor and Karakal fighting BoU and EW)

The Blood Crusade reaches the Eye of Terror

Mycenae burns as the Eagle Warriors and Berserkers of Uran tear toward the Eye of Terror. Raktra is on the verge of the terrible destiny Alexos has planned for him, and only one world stands in their path.

With the Crimson Lions scattered across their realm, just two Clans mount a last-ditch defence of Cadia. Galav Hothor and Cruach Karakal have been bitterly divided for many years, but now they are forced together as the wrath of two Legions descends on them.

-----

The idea being that the fighting on Cadia serves as a diversion for the Primarchs to venture into the eye. It's a pipe dream but hey, it amused me when it popped into my head.

I'm going to be buried in my new part-time job and two Mental Health projects due on Monday. I should be more active after that, but I wanted to ask this question before I forgot.

Writing the Jade piece and his thoughts on the Grave Stalkers got my brain rolling.

Legion rivalries. They come in several flavors from Loyalist vs. Loyalist (Dark Angels & Space Wolves) and Loyalist vs. Traitor (Iron Warriors & Imperial Fists). (Were there any true rivalries between Traitor legions?)

So, what about BotL? The reason Perturabo and Dorn don't get along is because they are too alike, and I see a similar relationship between K'awil and Jade. Superficially, they should be close comrades given their Pariah natures, anti-social, and commanders of the two smallest legions. But the details make all the difference.

Perhaps one will exist between the Harbingers and the Halcyon Wardens, or the Wardens of Light and the Eagle Warriors.

Thoughts?

If we're general tensions, he Scions and Ghost Walkers do not get on, due to an unfortunate incident involving phosphex and an enemy city. The Berserkers despise the Halcyon Wardens because of the business with the Shepherds.

As far as similarities go, the Jackals and Ghost Walkers are somewhat similar. Perhaps the Godslayers and Crimson Lions, or maybe the Warbringers? Scions and The Drowned have a quite different relationship; I believe Slips said something about The Drowned helping the Scions to specialise for aquatic ops.

Somehow I believe there will be growing tensions between the Void Eagles and Fire Keepers as the Insurrection unfolds, Yucahu chosing an extremely offensive approach while Niklaas is "walls, walls, walls". And despite their apparent cruelty, they aren't seen in a good light by the Berserkers due to the whole Angels stuff.

Also the Warbringers may have grown to despise the Godslayers after the Zbruch events. How far the mighty have fallen, this kind of idea.
