I like how many ideas we have to build scenes around. Just gotta work out when the massive Assault Marine attack should happen during the Siege of Terra. Cue Hectarion throwing traitors from the walls.

Is it possible to apply the symbols to the Legionaries in the big picture, with the Harbingers and Nightguard too?

Hey guys, just letting you know I'm back for good and ready to get going again. Sorry for any inconvenience I've caused but I hope I can answer any burning questions you've had and get back into things.

Welcome back !!! So one pressing question is: what is the Stygian Jackal's emblem? We'd been designing some legion logos, and we'd pretty much only been missing yours. Here's a link to those we'd done so far:

Hey Thorn, Here it is. Obviously it is in no way a great work of art (me and photoshop don't get on very well :dry.: ) but it should hopefuly suffice.

That is very similar to the Warbringers. Could you perhaps make the blades more dagger-like?

Noticing that I haven't listed my legions' special weapons anywhere, so time for it!

Legio IV - the Void Eagle

-Vernal electro-sabre: a wide, crackling cutlass

-Access to pariah flamer

-Relic: the Hashkor banner: a relic from the time of those who brought the morn, its inspiring presence is made offensive by a blinding las-light

Legio IX - the Warbringers

-Darzalan bardiche: cause entirely necessary

-Blade of the Bogatyrs: something something challenge, can be either a sword or an axe

-Relic: the Hand of Zalmos: deflagrating fist

my original plan was to have a dagger with the tree growing our of the blade, but my limited photoshopping skills meant this was as close as I could get to my plan. perhaps a photoshop guru could help me out?

Cool, I'll try and have a play around. Should the dagger part be vertical or diagonal?

Hehe, I know right? I was surprised just how well it came out for the Knives of Guilliman in the Liber Cluster, and I think Wade is running with it now :D Of course, the idea of Ghurka marines is just irresistible!

Please sir, may I have some of these too?

Are you going to have a rule for the Bardiche that means that Marines can use their rapid-fire/assault weapons as twin-linked and heavy, what with Bardiches being used as weapon rests by the Streltsy? Also, are they going to be power, chain, or simple weapons?

Someone made Ghurka marines? Show me.

While we're on warrior cultures who don't feature often enough, can we please get some Zulu marines as Successors for the Crimson Lions?

I don't know just how much work has gone into them yet, but here's a link to the Liber Cluster shoulderpads. The one you're looking for is the Knives of Guilliman.

You mean like these?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcata

Similar designs, although the Kukri is smaller I think, still if it's deemed to close to the CL's Falcan blades then I'd suggest Machetes as an alternative:

Also, I just checked out the Stygian Jackals thread and they have a special unit called Tazmanian Devils? Now I can't stop picturing them as Space Aussies... O_o

A kukri is much smaller: it really is like a knife or dagger in size, a Falcata is basically the size of a normal sword of the period (so about the same as a Xiphos or a Gladius)

Also, Kukris have an extremely thick blade with an extremely sharp edge, meaning that they have very good cutting power despite their size.

Of course, if we're going for a vertical dagger that morphs into a tree, a simple haft and base of the blade will be easier.

I might try and devise an Anzac-based Army unit who could take part in Iyacrax. The Gallipoli exhibition left quite an impression. In particular, just how mechanical it all became.

Also, I will try and properly acquaint myself with the Wardens of Light beyond the basics, and then do the same for the Ghost Walkers and Void Eagles.

Did someone say face tattoos?

They are worth it. ^^

As we got the Charcharodons and my chapter in the canonverse, the Jackals could have them as well in our verse. Why not?

Though maybe not like the typical Maori, Polynesian but maybe something different. Something like tribals?
