They don't really shoot better do they? just "as good as?"

Still, I would say that they are super elite for humans.

Mutated humans such as the space marines may be stronger or somehow more combat effective (or not as circumstances are) but they also cheat via being not quite human any more.

Preferred Enemy. Ignores Cover. Rending. These are all accuracy boosts that stem from their faith and training.

So yes, they shoot better.

I wouldn't say it was from training per say. More as you said from faith as all of those effects come in from Acts of Faith rolls and do not stay with the squad, which shows that not by their own skill but by Devine blessing did they shoot better. I'm not arguing that they are not super elite in regards to tech, weaponry and support they get, but I'd say the Officio assassinorum, cadians and death korps would be more elite than your average sister.

Cadians? Cadians?!

When Cadians have BS4 across the board, I'll let you call them elite.

Remember that the nature of the power for Acts of Faith is completely undetermined apart from two key facts: it is not Warp-based, and they worked before the Emperor was interred.

This all points towards Acts of Faith being something that's actually innate to the model using it, and not literal divine providence. Which implies that there must be something special about the training the Sisters themselves receive that lets them harness that power... which is why I liken them more to the little old ladies who lift cars off their grandchildren than any kind of cleric spellcasting.

I always assumed that was because if collectively a group believes hard enough the rules of the 40k universe allow that belief to begin to affect outcomes. It isn't that they are better, but that they change the rules due to their overpowering faith. (In 40k at least, Faith appears to be more powerful than the Natural Laws, if enough people in enough concentration share it).

However, I still would argue that Sisters are the most elite human fighting force, as anything that is canonically more elite (assassins, grey knights (boo hiss)) are either not a fighting force but a collection of individuals, not human, or frequently both.

So where do Stormtroopers sit? They can get more varied bonuses (including overlap with) than Sisters, so that must make them the best at shooting msn-wink.gif Now with the definition of "better" settled through this we can go back to arguing about what "super elite" means... tongue.png

Stormtroopers get the same basic training as Sisters, but with a focus on special tactics rather than faith. I wouldn't say that they make the Sisterhood any less super-elite.

The fact that faith is more useful than commando tactics is an artefact of the setting rather than the units.

Besides, I only said we were better than Space Marines tongue.png

As for where the Stormies sit, I'd say: At about the same level as the Sororitas, with a different specialisation. They're airborne heavy infantry, as opposed to the Sororitas super-heavy infantry.

That and Stormtroopers get to shoot things with their laser guns and go pew pew pew happy.png!

Joking aside, I think we can all agree that the humble Ministorum Priest is the most super elite unit. At least in the fluff. Well, in my fluff we are...biggrin.png
