20 man Legion Tactical in 40k - Scoring Units Question

I apologize if this has been asked. I tried to look through several pages and didn't see this question asked...or i totally missed it.

Anyways for those who play 30k against 40k armies, I know the general rule of thumb is 1 scoring unit for eveyr 500pts. However Legion forces can take 20 man units, which is quite a bit of armor to chew through. Would x2 20 man tactial be enough scoring units in say a 1500PT game? Or do you still think it needs to be 1 scoring unit per 500pts?

Thanks!

in 40k all units are scoring, so MSU is usually the best way to currently play. In 30k playing 30k missions, scoring units aren't as important but you should have a few (I go for 1 per 750) and have a good way to keep them alive (tough or out of sight).

Honestly with so many things being able to score in 40k I take as few troops as I can without losing out on their efficiency for their points. For example, if you have to take 10 marines as a compulsory choice you might as well make them useful by putting them in a Rhino so you at least max out on your objective secured options. I personally prefer a fat 20 man squad with an apothecary, fist/power weapon+melta bombs, and Vexilla as it really does make use of the discount on additional marines and makes them a really rough unit to remove. Getting furied by 20 marines who cost 12.5 points each hurts quite a bit.

My general rule of thumb is to take minimum 2 x 20 man squads, even in my Pride of the Legion list. They're relatively cheap (for 30K), they're massed bodies that are okay to sacrifice, and if they're ignored Fury of the Legion has the ability to cause a lot of damage. Apothecaries attached to Tactical Marines makes them something even more difficult to ignore.
