Sigismund229
The Hordes of Death Part 3 Looking out from his raised position behind the lines, Colenol Harken was only able to dispassionately look on as the front lines were overrun by undead astartes. Beside him, Major Iyak looked at the front lines being overrun through a pair of magnoculars with brutal indiference. Born and raised amongst the brutal miners of Thuran, the Major had a disregard for human life that Harken sometimes found disturbing, despite being fully aware that the troops he commanded were Penal legionnaires and therefore unworthy of the lives they'd been given. Yet in spite of that, they were still valuable as some of the most pyschotic and brutal inhabitants of a pyschotic and brutal world. "Thoughts Major?" asked Harkan. In response the Major shrugged and said "Send the lads in and call in artillery on their co ordinates. Should slow the enemy down a bit". Evenas he began to issue these orders, Harken asked "Where does this disregard for your men's lives come from Major?". Again, the Major shrugged and he said "Back home we were taught 'uman life is the least valuable thing in the Imperium. The metals we mined were worth more than us. There's only one planet like this in the whole of the Imperium sir. There's plenty more scum in the mines of Thuran". Ignace cursed as he desperately tried to move along. Beside him, Ignace was gradually getting slower as he bled out and Ignace couldn't afford to stop and tend to his wounds. Behind them, at least a dozen Godslayerw were shambling forwards, their mouths wide open and dried blood encrusting their lips. Turning, he fired off another blast with the shotgun but this one had little effect, the pellets simply ricoucheing off the astartes' armour. Then, all of a sudden, a hail of lasfire cut into the Godslayers, felling the front few. Turning towards the source of the fire, Ignace saw a squad of Imperial Army troopers marching down the trench. They were clad in filthy grey uniforms and all of them had no flak armour except for pieces of scrap metal that they'd turned into impromptu armour. They also all had sinister looking rebreathers covering their lower faces from which four tubes led off and connected into metal tank of air that each carried on his or her back. In their hands they held lasguns, rough and unfinished with the extra power packs taped to the side. Then, to Ignace's surprise, the officer at their head bellowed "WELL WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR SCUMBAGS?! GET STUCK IN" after which the troopers drew an odd assortment of bayonets, pick axes an mechetes and surged forwards, howling as they did so. When they reached the Godslayers they began hacking and slashing with wild abandon and as Ignace looked on, he saw the most astonishing of things happening. The insane troopers were winning. They were driving back the undead. However, as he noted that, Ignace heard the whine of a shell and threw himself and Krisjyians flat on the ground. When the shell exploded, it blew three of the troopers away but it also killed a Godslayer. Looking at the direction it had coming from, Ignace saw it was Imperial. "Our own bloody shell" he muttered and then said "Time to get out of here. Up you get Kris", heaving his friend up and continuing to move along, leaving the insane troopers to their fate. bluntblade
What's Icarion's plan for the assault on Terra until the Secessionist force his hand? Does he intend to arrive during the endgame to lead it, or is he content to direct them from Madrigal? Also, I'm aware someone has to stand guard over Madrigal itself, though I'm not sure who that'd be. Icarion has some pretty terrifying forces to call on, with the traitor Wardens and Serpents (renamed, I assume?) Corpora Ferro and clone soldiers (let alone if Alexos and Icarion decide to use whatever loyalist gene-seed they lay their hands on) supplementing the full Legion. As far as I remember ....Icarion;) he only leaves madrigal when the democrats conquer it. As far as I was aware, the Secessionists are still in the process of laying siege to Madrigal when Icarion dies and the Webway passage ruptures. I like the idea that the Maelstrom swells catastrophically and swallows up much of Icarion's realm. That'd be a time for him to shine, since we decided Raiden Athrawes would be the Everchosen. simison
Azus became aware of two statuses as he slithered back towards consciousness. The first was simple: pain rolled all over his body. He could not remember a time that he had been so physically incapacitated at any point in the entirety of the Great Crusade. The second was of a deep sensation of immaterial agitation that struck at his soul. There were only two beings in the entire galaxy that had that effect upon him. Azus opened his eyes and squinted as he stared into bright light. With a groan, he sat up, his eyes confirming that his body was now adorned with several new battle scars. He was naked on a medical bed. His eyes adjusted quickly and he soon noted that he was in a glass cage. He turned his head to the source of agitation and memories flooded back of a duel against two of his brothers. The Jade General. The traitor stood just on the other side of the transparent wall. As usual, the Jade General wore no expression, his eyes studying his captive with a scientists' clinical objectivity. Azus stood, feeling his anger rising at the wounds inflicted upon him by the Jade General and Kozja. Not all of them were physical. BTW, it's occurred to me that the Godslayers aren't in a position to provide a Chosen of Nurgle I would say that Alexander Kharkovic fits the bill fairly well as he was specifically spared from the plague by Nurgle. Plus, nepotism and all that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312261-insurrectionists-strategium/page/12/#findComment-4387232 Share on other sites

Kelborn
Short question concerning the possible role of the XXth Legion. Is there something I need to cover from the Ghost Walkers stuff? Certain battles for example? Mikhal told me that the Ghost Walkers slaughtered the Fire Keepers. Already have some ideas about that. Therefore, I'm curious of the rest I'm missing. Demus Ragnok
Slaughtered...thats rather a strong word. Ambushed would be more fitting. Ambush that rapidly turns into a meat grinder for both sides. Demus Ragnok
Well i dont think we ever posted anything certain. I believe there was a discussion about a naval battle. I wrote a story about Niklaas sacking a GW ship but thats about it. Really we can start fresh on the ambush due to there not being anything actually written about it.
