Lord Tharand
I got around to putting my Zardu Layak and Slave Blades together the other day and I've noticed he is enormous. He's as large as a Red Butcher terminator and just slightly less bulky than his own slave blades. He's only in Mk. IV armour so it makes me wonder if FW is changing the scale of their models now. I especially notice this when I look at the new AoS stuff. It's hard to tell the scale of the rumored HH plastics but I wonder if it's possible they'll be larger than the standard marine we are accustom to right now. Has anyone else noticed this or is Zardu just larger because he's a crazy chaos infused diabolist type character? heshman
I noticed that as well but assumed it's cause he's a daemon, and his armor looks to have been heavily modified. Lord Tharand
I noticed that as well but assumed it's cause he's a daemon, and his armor looks to have been heavily modified. So that was my initial thought as well but then I took a look at the new AoS Khorne guys previewed today. It seems like models are getting larger however it's not anything we've seen with the more recent 40k releases so maybe I'm off base. Daemon2027
The gal Vorbak are all bigger then normal marines, I imagine that Zardu and his slave dudes are the same as they are possessed.. They are great from some chaos based true scaling. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312619-zardu-layaks-scale/#findComment-4151210 Share on other sites
Rev. Tiberius Jackhammer
If they were switching to a different scale I doubt they'd still be releasing new characters (the Techmarines, for instance), accessories etc in the normal scale. Simplest explanation is that the character leading a squad of giant daemon dudes is also giant on account of being a mutated daemon dude. Peredyne
How many parts for Zardu? I'm thinking about getting him for a conversion, but I want to gauge how difficult the task will be. Zardu Layak doesn't come in many pieces. Torso, legs and the majority of the arms are in a single piece, with separate head, backpack and hands. I took a pic when I picked up the set at the Open Day - Zardu is in the corner. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t272/m_r_parker/FW%20Open%20Day%202015/25CD51DE-C1C7-4C3D-A595-EC2C5BE58126_zps8ijalyuo.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312619-zardu-layaks-scale/#findComment-4151494 Share on other sites
Peredyne
Thanks for the pic, m_r_parker! I was hoping that the torso would be separate, but I can remove the unnecessary parts to do my conversion. The hands being separate will really help with the conversion.
