Battle Report, Kill Team: IG vs Khorne Daemonkin

As some may know I'm playing Kill Team in a small tournament at the end of the month. I wanted to see how the list performed and try to get a feel for what Kill Team is like. Here's the mission and the lists:

We rolled off for the mission and got #6: Supply Drop. There are 6 objectives that scatter 2d6 after they are placed, but only one is real! At the end of the movement phase, models within 1″ can check if the objective is the vital supply drop, and on a 6 it is, all other objectives removed. On a 1-5 it is discarded, if it is the last objective marker left, it automatically becomes the supply drop, worth 3 Victory Points.

Game is played on a 4×4 board, and we used a lot of terrain (at least in comparison to what the tables usually look like). There is also secondary objectives: Slay the Leader, Linebreaker, First Blood and Break the Enemy.

The Imperial Guard:
10 x Veterans w/Grenadiers (4+ armour)
– 5 Lasgunners
– Plasmagunner, Weapon Specialist w/ Master-Crafted
– Plasmagunner, Guerrilla Specialist w/ Preferred Enemy
– Autocannon Heavy Weapons Team, Indomitable Specialist w/Relentless
– Sargent, Leader
in a Chimera w/ Multilaser and Heavy Bolter

3x Armoured Sentinels w/ Multilasers

The Khorne Daemonkin:
12 x Cultists
– 10 w/ Autopistols and CCW
– Sergeant, Leader
– Flamer, Scout
– Cultist, Dirty Fighter w/ Soul Blaze

8 x Bloodletters

8x Hounds of Khorne

I get the Chasing Promotion Leader Trait which gives 1 VP for killing his leader with my leader in a challenge. He scores A Cunning Ruse with d3+2 non-vehicle models of choice having Outflank. Ouch! At least I win the roll-offs for both table sides and deployment. Pretty much all the objectives have scattered towards one table side so I grab that. He is unable to seize so I have first turn.

The rest of the batrep can be found on www.emicus.net, with pictures and something akin to formatting!

Thank you nismogrendel :)

I should write something in regards to Kill Team before the tournament I suppose. Gah, can you imagine SIX games in one day? Even if it is low points, the above game took ~1.5 hours to play. Better take some notes or the batreps will be challenging to say the least.

As for the Dozer blade/point level. Normal K.T. is 200 points, the tournament will be 300 to allow for some variety. The Blade is cheap, but it'd either have to drop the Autocannon, a Plasmagun, Sentinel or Chimera and spread the remaining points around. And if I drop the Chimera where will the blade go?

It's not like you have much choice for spare points at so low points, so a plough is a good option as no matter the point value of a game an immobilised transport isn't much help :P Numbers really help with KT but there is much to be said for what vehicles can do, especially with AV12 as you said.
