spcmrn
hello brothers, here is my DIY chaos warband, hope you will enjoy it. C&C is welcome. Thanks to Olis grammatically text is far better now. Soon I will post some updates. Name: Riders of Iberia Founding: 16th Descendant of: White scars Homeworld: Iberia Origin The Riders of Iberia were created to defend the Arguan sector from Ork and Eldar raiding forces. In time, due to their fierceness they not only defeated the attackers, but pushed far into their territories, rampaging through the nearby Ork empire. There they found one isolated planet and when one starship was sent to find out some information about it, it was destroyed by Eldar forces. When the chapter master heard about it, he gathered his chosen warriors and led attack by himself. Soon eldars were defeated and Riders of Iberia made planetfall. There they found an ancient city hidden in the snowy mountains of the planet. There, sitting on the throne carried by strange beasts, ruled a strange Eldar, who introduced himself as a king of the planet. tHE Riders, driven by hatred towards xenos, turned meeting into massacre, eventually killing the king. Legend says, that when the Eldar died, ancient seals were destroyed and the power keeping the warp at bay, was no more. A powerful warp- storm was created, killing the chapter master and his chosen warriors. Several systems were caught in it and along with them almost all of the Riders of Iberia. Many daemons were set free but they never wanted to kill the marines. Step by step they corrupted Riders of Iberia. Soon the loyal marines turned their cloaks and swore oaths to Chaos Gods. In this they saw a way to be free, a way to become far more powerful than they could have ever been if they had remained loyal to the Emperor.Inner war With the chapter master dead, the new chaos warband needed leaders. The most powerful candidates were the first and fifth captains. They had almost an equal number of warriors, so battle was going to be bloody and put the chapter under the danger of extinction. So the former librarian and chaos sorcerer Atab used his newly gained powers, teleported with a handful of veteran warriors on the flagship and took it under control. After that the fate of the battle was decided, but the first captain, driven by madness, attacked. Eventually he was destroyed, but chapter nevertheless suffered a great loss. The captain of the fifth company Gerg became lord of the Riders and Atab became his right hand. After the inner warSoon after the inner war the chapter was reorganized, captains became chieftains and took control over forces of different troops. The terminator armors of the first company were recovered from their destroyed ships and handed to the new lords most faithful warriors, creating an elite ''Erkel'' company. Formally they were bodyguards of the lord but in fact were used as a weapon of fear and punishment against rebellious and unfaithful brothers. The chapter became fleet-based and began raiding the Imperium, hunting for resources and people. There were several attempts to annihilate the Riders but they always managed to fall back to their lair in the warp-storm and after some time attacked other regions. This lasted for several decades but eventually they were trapped by Imperial forces and barely a third of the chapter managed to escape to the Eye of the Terror.Nowadays The chapter fights as a mercenary force in service of different chaos lords. The Riders are considered a strong force but are gradually breaking apart and Gerg is struggling to keep the warband from disbanding. He even dreams of rebuilding it, making even stronger than it was before. Combat Doctrine The Riders of Iberia prefer to attack enemies from several directions, bringing chaos in their ranks and finally destroying them. If they don't manage to do this in one attack, they pull back, regroup and attack again, again and again before enemies are annihilated or run from battle. If that happens, biker squads follow them with wild cries and kill everyone. OrganizationNowadays the chapter consists of nearly 300 hundred marines. They are divided into six different companies, each one commanded by a chieftain. The second most powerful figure in the warband is chancellor, the right hand of the lord. There are also officers responsible for supplies, fleet, armory, recruits and spies. After the devastating defeat from Imperial forces Gerg reorganized his warband. Tactical and devastator squads were merged forming support units. from veterans he formed stealth squads, which specialize in scout and sabotage missions. Olis
First and foremost, welcome to B&C and the Liber, brother. Secondly, onto the text itself. Forgive the assumption, brother, but may I ask if English is your second language? It appears that what's written so far may need some slight alterations here and there to correct the grammar. If you think that maybe you need someone else to help with that, then I'd be happy to help with what you've got so far. :) Now, these Eldar. I take it these are Exodites rather than the usual Craftworld Eldar, right? That's what it seems like to me, reading the descriptions. I think that something to consider in the article is perhaps something more to describe the meeting between the Chapter Master and the Exodite King. Surely this King knows that his own death means the release of a warp storm (and, being Eldar, this is probably a less than ideal result), so would he not attempt to negotiate or bargain? Whether or not the Chapter Master listens is another thing entirely, though. DaBoiKyknos
I like the story, I`ve been thinking about a renegade chapter which serves as mercenary to greater chaos-warbands as well, though a bit different. (...) Whatsoever: Since you named them Riders of Iberia, do you plan to give them a southern-european flavour? Like slightly browner skin, or spanish names ? Or did you thought about Celtic-Iberics of old? Do you have a colour scheme yet? It must be quite a challenge/a big room for personal fantasy to use them as a basis for your chapter, because I think there is very little known about people like that and they don`t seem to have any written sources of their own.
