Emicus
'Cheating' and using decals work too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312974-d-strength-vanquisher/page/2/#findComment-4160000 Share on other sites
march10k
Do you have a secret to getting the drawn-on numbers so pretty looking? I can imagine trying to do that and making a bloody smear out of it lol. 17 years of practice? LOL...really, it just takes a good brush and the patience to paint over the numbers and try again if needed. 'Cheating' and using decals work too I'm way too lazy to deal with covering up the clear glossy space around the decal, lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312974-d-strength-vanquisher/page/2/#findComment-4160203 Share on other sites
Emicus
Stencils then! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312974-d-strength-vanquisher/page/2/#findComment-4160567 Share on other sites
march10k
I actually used stencils...on my valkyries... I put tracing paper on the side of the cockpit, laid down the stencil, made an outline, then carefully hand-painted the numbers: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/312974-d-strength-vanquisher/page/2/#findComment-4160627 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
Another tip I've seen is to trace out the outline of the freehand in pencil, then paint over that. march10k
Pretty much the same thing, but I've had pencil marks, which are dark and shiny, show through light colored paint...didn't want to risk requiring 4-5 coats with this really light gray. With the tracing paper, 2 coats did the job. Phubar
I thinking that Armourbane AP2 is enough for the Vanquisher fluffwise. Maybe to balance with other armies big ones they could add an upgrade for the main cannon making it Armourbane AP1 and Fleshbane. MagicHat
Cult Mechanicus Breachers have the contortion cannon that does 1D3 HP/Wounds. Would make it a good MC/tank hunter, while still not being auto-kill. Maybe something to consider.
