IndigoJack
Until recently, I pretty much only played Deathwing. I loved my Deathwing. I loved the fluff, I loved how they looked, and I loved how they played. I always considered Deathwing my "for fun" army. Whenever I was playing with people I didn't know, that's the army I would bring. It was hardly a pushover army, but it was an army that could be beaten while still providing a fun game. My "competitive" army, has always been my Daemonhunters Grey Knights. Even after the 7th edition codex, I found ways to make them work (that didn't involve centurions). However, due to the rapid evolving competitive meta, my competitive GK list has fallen out of favor with me. It's not impossible to win with them, but there are too many bad match-ups and too many scenarios where the army will simply be outclassed. Then came the new DA book. Pure Deathwing were out as it either meant unbound (not that we don't play unbound, it just feels like a cop-out to me) or a scenario that means I could lose a lot of games turn one. Luckily, I had been amassing a sizable Ravenwing army, so the new book didn't entirely mean I was out of luck. It seems that my "fluff" army and my "competitive" army have switched. My Grey Knights are the army I take when I want to ensure my opponent has an enjoyable game, and my Dark Angels are the army I take when I want to play a tough-as-nails cheese list. This project log will hopefully chronicle the completion of my Dark Angel army for Adepticon next year. I'll post pictures first (because that's what I know you guys want to see) and then my list. Also, if anyone is interested, I can post batreps of this list in action. WARNING!!! ABANDON FLUFF ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE! RWSF Interrogator Chaplain on a bike with the Shroud of Heroes, the Mace of Redemption and auspex Full RWCS with apothecary and banner 2x Full RW bike squads with 2x grav guns, combi-grav, meltabombs, and MM attack bike Darkshroud SM Iron Hands CAD CM with bike, shield eternal, thunder hammer, artificer armor 2x 5man Scout squads with bolters Thunderfire Cannon SM Iron Hands Librarius Conclave 3x ML2 librarians on bikes with a force axe, force stave, and force sword. Told you it was cheesy. Of course, the whole army will be converted and painted to look like Dark Angels, but that's more of a logistic issue. I'd rather not have bits of several space marine armies instead of one cohesive one (that may dip into other books). Pigshead
Great stuff. I've been looking for a way to make a chappy on a bike and you've just given me an idea. Really love the green stuff shoulders by the way.
