depthcharge12
I'm curious as to whether or not people have experimenting with various different fortifications in their lists, maybe besides just your basic ADL. In particular, I'm wondering if anyone has used the plasma obliterator or defense towers. The obliterator looks pretty fun because it's an AV14 building with transport capacity/firing slots and a giant freaking plasma cannon on top. You could pretty much nuke any TEQ squad out there that doesn't have 2 wounds. It can also effectively wipe out marine blobs too. I'd say that a Thanatar might be better in weaponry, but you won't have to invest in an AdMech detachment this way. Hell, I think you'd even be able to slap a void shield on the turret too. Thoughts? Reyner
The obliterator tower looks great fun when you get Kyr Vhalen involved. AV15! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313404-heresy-fortifications-tactics/#findComment-4166459 Share on other sites
Caillum
^^ This! Even without Kyr Vhalen, the Bastion and Plasma Obliterator are pretty solid. Also worth mentioning is the Wall of Martyrs Bunker, as 8 models can fire out of it - perfect little firebase for some Volkite culverins. I've contemplated a Heavy Support Squad with heavy flamers utilising Promethium Relay Pipes. Salamanders would have Strength 6 (and Death Guard with Strength 5 Shred) on their Torrent templates! They become Heavy weapons, but you can use an Augury Scanner to pseudo-Intercept with them now! Noserenda
Ive used them a lot with my Iron Warriors :D Trenchs and such tend to be worse than the humble ADL but Bunkers of all kinds are pretty awesome, especially for vulnerable heavy support squads or rapiers. I swear by the Turrets with Quad Las for AA too (Even with the skyfire nerf). Ive fielded the Aquilla too in big games but it previously just sucked and died, hopefully thr new D rules make it less pointless next time i dig it out!I do want a PLasma Obliterator but GW wont sell me one! :( Also keen to try the Promethium pipes though my group has strongly implied void shield networks would be swiftly frowned on lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313404-heresy-fortifications-tactics/#findComment-4166496 Share on other sites
