librarian on bike models

hi guys. hoping to start up a librarius conclave, maybe with ezekiel, but he can't use a bike, so maybe just a vanilla conclave....on bikes!

So what models are you using if you have a librarian on a bike? I'm hoping for a current librarian model that i can basically hack the legs off and plop it on a space marine or RW bike.

The easiest way to convert a biker librarian is by using the models in the Dark Vengeance set.   You can usually find them on eBay for next to nothing.  A few cuts and some green stuff and you are on your way!

This is what I used as a guide for my conversion:

I cut off the right arm on mine and used a biker arm and blank shoulder pad.  Here is a link to my conversion but just a warning, the paint isn't that great on it.

I hope these help!

Or you could do it really easy and just paint the normal biker blue

That would be more of a paint job than a conversion.  You are right, it definitely would be the easiest and most cost effective.  Perhaps adding some grey knights bits may also give them a librarian feel.

Thanks Epher! And the paint looks good to me!

I am using a Librarian from the DV set, however I am using an attack bike. I have removed the gunner and weapon from the side car, and the libby will be standing where the gunner normally sits, and then I am going to take a DWK Stormshield to add to the front of the side car. It will almost be like a Chariot but on a bike. So the driver can lead the libby around the battlefield so he can focus on casting his powers and such!

I like that Libby model with force axe. Nice

What do you do with the model? Just cut it at the waste and stick the legs back on along the bike angles? What about the robes?

Use the robed legs from the RW upgrade sprue.    No greenstuff required.

Yep, the ravenwing upgrade, plus the top half of the finecast power axe libby...standard rider's left arm and the shoulder pad of your choice.

This is what I ended up with mashing the DV figures together and it only needed a small amount of greenstuff too ;)

I had ordered the parts for my first conversion before I saw what March10k had done. I had the same idea. I did it last night, as I said, it was my first, but I ended up being fairly pleased with the result (didn't have greenstuff, so there are 1 or two gaps I might have been able to avoid, have I had any) Despite that, it was fairly easy.

Here is a tip, if you decide to go that way:

When piecing together the model, after you've set the legs on the bike, before you glue the torso to the legs, make sure the left arm fits properly to the body. To make it fit properly, you'll have to twist the torso a bit. if you do not, you will need some greenstuff to be able to glue the arm and the torso. as I said, I didn't have any, so I got fiddly with some "shrapnel" from when I sawed off poor libby's legs. On mine there is a gap, but the shoulderplate covers almost all of it, so to me it's not too big a deal. Once it gets coated and painted, it should be alright.

Regards

Sneaky
