HenricusTyranicus
Although my propensity for coming up with novelty combinations may be wearisome occasionally, I had to get some feedback on this. Ratlings have Infiltrate and outflank. Chimeras can take 2 heavy flamers. Lo and behold, death to Aegis defense line campers. Ratlings also have Stealth which I'm not sure if they confer to the vehicle. Would be awesome if they did. BS 4 for the lasgun arrays is a nice touch. With camo gear, and getting into cover, since it is presumably dealing with cover campers, this could be tough to move. On the downside, of course, that's about 100 points, and it takes up an elite slot. Plus marine Land speeders can do much the same thing more cheaply, albeit less durably. Inso
How do the Ratlings get hold of a Chimera? It isn't in their options. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313601-ratling-chimeras/#findComment-4170350 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Inso is right; Ratlings don't have a dedicated transport option. As to removing back field campers we have plenty of other options which don't require us to get close - drop some artillery in to solve the problem or send in the Eradicator ;) Alternatively Scout Sentinels with flamers are cheap and cheerful, if short ranged but they can cause mischief and even kick some tanks in :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313601-ratling-chimeras/#findComment-4170364 Share on other sites
HenricusTyranicus
Dang it. I just assumed that they did have that option somehow. Ah well. Maybe in the new codex, when Chimeras are fast attack. Until then, case closed. librisrouge
Even if we currently had them as fast attack, we wouldn't be able to outflank them because that only crosses over for dedicated transports. Master Antaeus
Just get a hellhound. Assuming a 12" deployment zone, if you started right on the line, you could move to the 24" line and reach the 36" line with the inferno cannon. If they deployed further back than that, you may have to wait a turn to properly make them do the burny dance. CoffeeGrunt
Also Lasgun Arrays are always resolved at BS3, regardless of the occupants. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313601-ratling-chimeras/#findComment-4172158 Share on other sites
