Be'Lakor

I've always really liked Be'lakor. His model, his lore, his rules. They're all awesome and really fun to use without being over the top or ridiculous (in my opinion atleast.)

My question is this. In his Dataslate, Be'Lakor can be taken as an HQ Choice in a detachment chosen from Codex: Chaos Daemons. The Word Bearers unique Rite of War, The Dark Brethren, allows you to take allies from Codex: Chaos Daemons. With that in mind, can Be'lakor be used as the HQ choice of for a Daemons allied detachment to Word Bearers?

Be'lakor has some really unique rules, especially when it comes to Fear and Leadership test. I feel like most of 40k really doesn't allow you to use those rules most of the time but I think 30k is the perfect place for it.

Yeah. His lore dictates that Be'Lakor has ruled over mortal Empires since the dawn of time and his past is 'woven into the history of the Galaxy. So he's probably actually a Xenos in origin, much older than humans. There's actually quite a few Daemon Princes since before the Horus Heresy, not including those like Samus and Cor'Bax (though honestly I have to wonder if they really are Daemon Princes or just Daemons), some Princes like Doombreed, Warfiend, and Bubonicus are all stated to be humans who ascended to become Daemon Princes before the Age of the Imperium.

I'm trying to imagine you hanging out up here during an Alaskan winter.

And I can't. tongue.png

That is because I'm a cold-blooded pansy and I can't stand anything under 70 degrees! I like my nice warm Texas weather, thank you. I'd rather visit you when the temperature is not a smaller number than my age. dry.png

Isn't Doombreed the most powerful?

should be fine^^

after all, Be'lakor is the first daemonprince - he should be involved with the heresy (and i just wait to see him appearing in a BL HH novel tbh)

I disagree doombreed should be in the heresy

they should be both in the heresy xD

Be'lakor was the first daemonprince of Chaos - Doombreed the first daemonprince of Khorne^^

The Daemon Prince/Daemon split is a simplification for the sake of the game, I think. Certainly there are a few 'princes of daemons' who were never mortal, such as M'Kachen.

I hope we see N'kari and Doombreed appear on the Vengeful Spirit at some point, as a little nod to the old free game in White Dwarf :)

Back more directly on topic, I certainly can't see any problems with Belakor appearing on the battlefields of the 31st Millennium.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the old White Dwarf with Be'lakor's background. Well, I think it was his background. I didn't read it in over ten years. And even then that was before he appeared in 40,000.

if we ever come to the Siege of Terra

I don't think Games Workshop will survive until the next century.
