Josh84
Hey peeps, I thought I would share the progress of my Dark Angels army here. So far I have only painted and modelled around 3500 points of deathwing. I have a few other models which still need some tlc. More photos to come but here's a shot of the whole lot thus far Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313607-wip-of-the-dark-angels/ Share on other sites
Tygwyn
Looking very nice indeed, I imagine you get a lot of deep strike satisfaction from that little lot! Josh84
A little bit! Especially when not all of them scatter! If only they had devastator termies! Epher
A very impressive looking Deathwing Force! Lots of smashy DWK's but only one set from Dark Vengeance? Now that is commitment! Keep up the great work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313607-wip-of-the-dark-angels/#findComment-4170501 Share on other sites
Josh84
A very impressive looking Deathwing Force! Lots of smashy DWK's but only one set from Dark Vengeance? Now that is commitment! Keep up the great work! Commitment? I think the photos of each squad below will show a whole different level of commitment! The first squad of Knights The second squad The third squad The third squad with the sergeant with his other arm to make 2 bigger squads instead of 3 The dark Vengeance termies 3 squads of troops Various close combat options for the troops The other 3 troops With all the other options (heavy weapons, chainfists and command squad bits) It's just a flesh wound! Just like magic! If only you could arm them like this! Another casualty of war? Nope just a standard bearer! Try take his flag away! Now for Mr chaplain The librarian Belial http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11304/gallery_88047_11304_699914.jpg http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11304/gallery_88047_11304_821977.jpg And lastly the land raiders http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11304/gallery_88047_11304_29699.jpg http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11304/gallery_88047_11304_238520.jpg http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11304/gallery_88047_11304_480765.jpg http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11304/gallery_88047_11304_32180.jpg Needless to say this involved lost of magnets and lots of spare arms to be painted. Don't think I'll be doing that again! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313607-wip-of-the-dark-angels/#findComment-4170672 Share on other sites
Epher
Thanks for all the close ups. Was going to ask for a few but you beat me to it. Your level of dedication to the Deathwing far surpasses what expected! I can only imagine the time it took to magnetize and paint all of the arms! Great work on the land raiders too. The weathering looks phenomenal! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313607-wip-of-the-dark-angels/#findComment-4170862 Share on other sites
Tygwyn
Loving that MoR on the Chaplain - surprised we don't see more of that little conversion. May I steal it please? jbaeza94
Love the chaplain! But I have a question, I have the same mini, how did you get the shoulder pad off of the arm, isn't it a metal mini? Malakithe
Ya I have the same resin model. It's really awesome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/313607-wip-of-the-dark-angels/#findComment-4176069 Share on other sites
Josh84
Loving that MoR on the Chaplain - surprised we don't see more of that little conversion. May I steal it please? Of course you can steal it. I thought it was so simple I'm surprised it's not be about more! My chaplain is resin but to get the pad off I basically destroyed the upper arm by clipping it Al the elbow and then just filed it down with a dremell drill. The same principles would apply to metal, it'll just take longer.
