I will probably play WUD, to have guaranteed T2 reserves, because this list is aimed to kill stuff to OS loses value.

What I want to try here is the effect Tempestas will have on the game. The firepower is comparatively small, but I only have 3WC and one Psyker less than at 1850. If Tempestas will perform as well as it has in the past, this should be pretty strong. I do expect some hairy opposition like Grav Bike spam or two Canoptek Harvests, so the test will be authentic if nothing else.

Looking forward to it ;)

i recently played a small 500 point game for the start of our local campaign.

Tried the tempestas powers for the first time ever with a RP, ML2, armour of russ, bike, axe, helm of durfast. And i have to say, it worked a treat.

I have to say having the re-rolls to hit is a great boost with these powers. Also the fact they are all warp charge 1&2 is pretty decent for getting them off.

I had thunderclap, fury of the wolf spirits ... and even with the lack of AP on thunderclap the amount of shots you can get is a great boost especially if you are planning on assaulting a large unit. Whittles it down a little. Mixed with the shots from fury (and ignoring cover due to helm) i managed to take out a unit of 10 necron immortals in 1 turn. shooting then assault (my priest was with a few bikes).

weight of fire can be the key to victory, and with the tempestas discipline you're getting a whole extra round of shooting smile.png

Unfortunately, I did not manage to participate. I was late because of a meeting, and with me there would have been an odd number.

However, I did get two games out of three for test purposes. One against a White Scar Grav player and one against the winner, the one who brought a bloody double D Wraithknight. I won the first and lost the second. Summaries up soon ;)

Yeah, in those situations it is either Grav or bust. Personally, I dislike how integral Grav has become to the game. It came out of nowhere and now entire armies are based on it. But yeah, Wraithknights is why we need it unfortunately.

Okay, the game I won was against a Bike Command Squad with Apothecary, 4 Grav and a Chapter Master with his usual gear and two Grav Bike units.

He had first turn, but could not do anything. He moved forward, which was somewhat of a mistake, because the exposed the Command Squad.

I landed with both GH unit. The psychic phase was solid. Njal threw the Wolf Spirits at the read of the CS and forced him to jink, as he misplaced with Apothecary. No casualties. Then I activated the Nova and killed a CS member and one Bike. Two sets of living Lightning killed 3 more bikes in a unit.

The last member of that unit got finished with Stormbolters from the Pods. Both GH units opened up on the other bike unit and killed it.

The CS was forced to jink, so he threw a few pot shots at one GH unit and killed a guy. He decided to charge the unit. I killed two bikes, while he killed the sergeant and three more dudes. I stood my ground.

In my turn, the Dread landed close. I casted Nova and killed one bike. Then the Njal unit got into combat, both activated Force. Only the Chapter Master survived and died in the next phase.

The verdict is that the ability to bring free Axes and throw extra shooting in thebosychic phase is very very solid against 3+ save armies, especislly bikes. The weight of fire takes a heavy toll on their low numbers.

Now onto the more painful one. He had a Wraithknight with double D, a Farseer on Jetbike and the rest were Scatterbikes.

I had first turn. I landed with both GH unit and did my usual Lightning and shooting routine. I forced one Jetbike unit to Jink and killed a whole other.

One unit survived and the WK. And here is where the game ended. The Jetbike unit turbo boosted outside of my reach while the WK moved towards me.

The D took out a sergeant and a Pod. He got the charge. I did one wound to it, but he got a 6 on the Stomp on top of his attacks and killed the whole unit. Marvelous.

My Dread arrived and killed two Jetbikes. The GH tried to shoot the WK. It lost another 2 wounds.

The WK killed a Pod and a GH and charged the unit. The Jetbikes flew behind my Dread and killed it.

I managed to get the WK down to 1 wound, but lost the unit in the process during two combat phases. I tried to cast force, but it got denied.

But even if I would have killed the WK, I would have never caught the Jetbikes.

And thus we have the weakness of this list, it lacks mobility and long-ranged dakka. At higher points it is less of an issue, as you can supplement the list with Knights and Long Fangs, but without that kind of support, you lose loads in the mobility-department.

So yeah, there you go. Tempestas was pretty damn solid ;)

in fairness considering the dickitude of the list with the WK you did pretty damn well. I know what you mean about those damn bikes in lower points games, near uncatchable and you have to hope for a decent outcome on your first turn, which you pretty much had.

tempestas is definately the way forward for smaller points games. then at larger pointage 2 priests, one with tempestas and the other biomancy probably.

nice report and well played brother smile.png
