Best OP units for WE because....

I just feel that taking a Typhon might be too far as you're winning by pure pie plate "nope" rather than actual generalship or skill.

Also, what type of objectives do you play? If you're doing straight kill points, he'll obviously beat you all day everyday since he has fewer kill points to give.

Unless you table him.... :D

...you mean there are other options as a WE player?!

You could always throw 9 butchers + Khârn into a Caestus ram. It's more of a murdercomet than a boulder at that point.

Another excellent choice might be a Typhon, for wholesale erasing terminators silly enough to be on foot.

A Typhon would level the playing field against wacky GK shenanigans for almost everything but dreadknights. I imagine it'd be pretty satisfying to make him scoop Paladins.

Basically just listen to whatever Flint says, she's pretty much got a degree in thrashing 40k armies with World Eaters.
Haha thanks for the vote of confidence :D

Most of my experience with my XII legion comes from Eldar, Tau and 40k Space Marines. My dream is still to play a green tide ork army to see if XII legion are better Orks than orks are.

Anywho, I think GK may be an entirely different animal. I get the basics of Draigo and Paladins, along with standard PAGK and interceptors, but Nemesis Dreadknights confuse and alarm me.

Also, I don't know what shunting is, but it sounds dirty.

Letting the thing jump 30" across the table. Etiquette dictates that it watches Mortarion try and do the same thing then flip him the bird.

If they aren't Red Butchers but still need to deal with TEQ, Power Fists (to deny FNP or ID multiwound T4 or Lower), 1 Plasma Blaster per 5 and as many Combi-Plasmas as you can.

Otherwise, gear them to the task you want them to excel at. They ain't Codex "I have Two Possible Loadout" Terminators.

But Morty does it with Style and better to boot!

Oh man, do yourself a favor and stop playing maelstrom. I could give a 2 year old a crayon and whatever they inevitably draw on the wall will function better as a way of determining who should win. The overwhelming conclusion is that unmodified maelstrom is horrible, with modified still being inferior to crusade. Maelstrom combines the problem of arbitrary action that can't b mitigated in any way (similar to kill points) and the issue of enabling the best armies (get to X objective, cast a power, kill a unit); high mobility and fire power with some powers is indicative of marines and eldar (crons if they have destroyer cults). It's really not a surprise this GK guy likes a format that gives him free vps for having units
