TemujinZero
So me getting a Falchion off the wife for my birthday might be a thing. I already had a good idea of where I was going with my Fists, but I always struggle to squeeze in a LoW, never mind a chunky 500+ point LoW. I think I've arrived at something I'm happy with though. I have one CC squad geared to mulch AP2 and characters and one geared to wipe out AP3, both in Land Raiders. I also have a reserve squad of Terminators with a teleporter transponder. This is backed up by plenty of lascannon fire, a full size BS5 Tactical Squad with an Apothecary, 2 Distraction Vindicators, and of course my big nasty D tank. I'm using Pride of the Legion, but that's purely for the ability to take a Land Raider as a dedicated transport for my command squad. It does make my Terminator Squad troops alongside the Tactical Squad and Templar Brethren, but that's irrelevant since they score anyway. If anything stands out as particularly foolish, I'd really appreciate your comments. The Full List: Sigismund - Pride of the Legion + Command Squad - 5 man, Combat Shields, Melta Bombs, 4 Power Axes, 1 Power Fist + Land Raider Phobos (DT) - Armoured Ceramite, Multi-melta Templar Brethren - 5 man, 1 Combat Shield, Solarite Gauntlet, Melta Bombs + Land Raider Phobos (DT) - Armoured Ceramite, Multi-melta Tactical Squad - 20 man, Additional CC Weapons, Nuncio Vox, Artificer Armour, Power Fist, Melta Bomb + Apothecary - Artificer Armour Terminator Squad - 1 Storm Shield and Thunder Hammer, 4 Combi Plasma, 3 Power Fists, 1 Chainfist, Teleporter Transponder Vindicator Vindicator Heavy Support Squad - 6 man, Lascannons, Artificer Armour, Augury Scanner Falchion Super Heavy Tank Destroyer - Armoured Ceramite, Legion Crew TOTAL: 2998 Points Some notes: Sigismund runs with a command squad because he's going to barrel right into the most powerful enemy character and take his head, and powerful enemy characters have a habit of being escorted by units with a 2+ armour save, which Templar Brethren are terrible against. The Templar Brethren are minimum size because I will only run them into majority 3+ save (or worse) units, which they can butcher like a hot knife through butter, making this a nicely efficient unit if they get the right match-up. A 10 man squad would be spectacular overkill against a 3+ save unit, but would still be crap against a 2+ save unit. I know I have no dedicated anti-air. My gameplan would be to just weather a fliers shooting if possible, or as a backup to rely on my 8 TL Lascannon shots. Slips
List is not legal since your two compulsory selections arent terminators or tac vet squads even if Templar are troops with siggy, they arent compulsory. In the same vein, neither are regular Tacs due to Pride. TemujinZero
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's a total bummer. I'll have to cut out another 268 points for a second terminator squad. I don't see any way of doing that without ruining the list. Here goes: Sigismund - Pride of the Legion + Command Squad - 5 man, Combat Shields, Melta Bombs, 4 Power Axes, 1 Power Fist + Land Raider Phobos (DT) - no upgrades Templar Brethren - 5 man, 1 Combat Shield, Solarite Gauntlet, Melta Bombs + Land Raider Phobos (DT) - no upgrades Tactical Squad - 15 man, Additional CC Weapons, Nuncio Vox, Artificer Armour, Power Fist Terminator Squad - 1 Storm Shield and Thunder Hammer, 4 Combi Plasma, 3 Power Fists, 1 Chainfist, Teleporter Transponder Terminator Squad - 1 Storm Shield and Thunder Hammer, 4 Combi Melta, 3 Power Fists, 1 Chainfist, Teleporter Transponder Vindicator Vindicator Heavy Support Squad - 5 man, Lascannons, Artificer Armour, Augury Scanner Falchion Super Heavy Tank Destroyer - Legion Crew TOTAL: 2999 Points Those cuts hurt, but having a second terminator squad is good I suppose. Still, no armoured ceramite on my super heavy is painful.
