I think the top picture with him looking away is better tbh :)

Don't be discouraged about the wings - try getting ahold of some ravenwing symbols and cut off the bottom part so you're left with the smaller wings. Those should work perfectly.

This one or the other?

Those Raven Wing wings with the claws would work well. Just cut the claws off and you're ready to go.

Ps. I think the head looks more natural looking away from the sword. You could turn the head even further if you wanted to.

Small update, got some bits today and I've ordered a whole set of the helms as I wanna try out each different one but I decided to test out what I have currently.

Inspiration for this angle came from the image of Astelan from collected visions and also the front of Fallen Angels

Much much better! I might have to steal that msn-wink.gif

Did you decide on using the ones from the RW biker kit?

It's the Ravenwing Command Squad Helmet, had to cut it and model it a bit, the small ravenwing emblems are a bit to small.

I appreciate it, I will have to get back on my 1st legion project as well!!!

P.s. Don't forget the robes ;)

Those wings are censored.gif perfect, WoT. Perfect.

Thanks! I'm going to be taking them off and trying them on the different helmets, my favourite atm is the top left one in this image.

If only I was good enough with green stuff to try it but I literally suck, I tried making green stuff loin clothes before but they just look like disfigured tongues lol.

To do loin cloths or any robes, I've found doing three or more thin layers of green stuff achieves the best results. I'm new to the green stuff game as well :) half the battle is tools - get a silicone brush and a "spoon" and you can accomplish anything.

1.) Do a thicker sheet with the general shape of what you want. Make it roughly a square shape, and make sure to have a few points of contact with the belt and possibly a leg.

2.) softly push and mold the GS around the top near the belt and around contours.

3.) let this sheet cure for about 30 minutes

4.) using small blobs of GS (no particular shape needed), put them on top of the first sheet and use your silicone brush to make some thicker "folds" in an organic manner.

5.) use any smoothing or sharp tools to refine the shape, but don't overwork the GS or you will find lines in it or abrasiveness that will annoy you to no end

I'd keep the awesome Dark Angels helmet (FW knocked it out of the park with those), but lose the wings. I think he gets the point across without (what I see as) useless ornamentation.

I wanted him to look a bit like this guy
