Battle Report: 2000 points Grey Knights vs Astra Militarum !

Hello everybody ! Today, Tomsev and me decide to make a Battle Report, his GK, and his new toys, a squad of interceptors and an IK !!! Enjoy ! ;)

 

Scenario: roll a 3, eternal war

Mission: roll a 1: crusade

 

List grey knights imperial knights

NSF

Warlord librarian: ml3, domina liber daemonica, storm bolter, halberd

librarian ml3: falchions, storm bolter

Draigo

Terminator squad: 10 men, 2 psycanons, 2 hammers, combat squaded

Interceptor squad: 10 men, 2 incinerators

NDK: PT, heavy psycanon, greatsword

NDK: PT, heavy psycanon, heavy incinerator, hammer

Oathsworn knight detachement

Imperial knight errant

 

 

List AstraMilitarum Thunderer's regiment:

 

Hq: Knight commander Pask in punisher, lascannon and multi-meltas sponsons, executionner with heavy bolter, plasma cannons sponsons

Minitorum priest

Troops:

Veterans with 2 plasma guns in chimera

Infantry platoon: 2 squads of guardsmen  grenad launcher and autocannons, 20 conscripts, platoon command squad with autocannona and flamethrower

Fast attack: A Vendetta

Heavy support: Basilisk, Basilisks and a leman russ punisher with heavy bolter sponsons

Lord of War: Baneblade

 

Psychic power (Tomsev) :Librarian ml 3 + relic + lore master warlord trait: Santic: Sanctuary, Hammerhand, spiritual purification, gate, vortex -> 

Librarian ml 3: Shrouded (+2 cover save), invisibility and force of spirit? 2 and psychic shriek

 

 

Zoraork: Warlord: Knight commmander Pask

 

Deploiment: I decide to let Tomsev start the deploiment:

 

 

Tomsev decide to take the turn 1, I failed to steal the initiative..

tURN 1 Tomsev

 

Reserve: All but one combat squad of interceptors came in

Movement: Boths NDKs shunt up to the guards main lines, joined by the termies warlord squad, the termies and interceptors drop on the basilisks, knight moves up behind draigos squad

 

Psy: Sanctuary and invisibily on the Draigo's squad

Both sanctuary on the NDKs failed

Spiritual purification killed my sergeant of my first squad, 

Shooting phase: the interceptor killed my second squad and scoring first blood, and his terminators squad killed one basilisk

The Ik try to shoot on my LR punisher, and he failed to penetrate, my LR executionner and punisher got immobilised

 

 

My turn:

 

Baneblade moved forward, the chimera too, and Pask turned towards the closest NDK

after the smoke clears 1 nemesis is dead, 2 hps done to the knight, and 1 wound off the second ndk and 1 interceptor is dead

 

 

Grey knights turn 2

The second squad of interceptors pop in front of my lemans and troop squads

The terminators moved on the basilisks, interceptors on my platoon command squad, the NDK on my baneblade, and the IK approached of my lane

 

Psychic phase: Sanctuary on Draigo, invisibility failed, vortex failed but nothing happened, sanctuary on the NDK, psychic shriek killed 6 conscripts

Shooting phase: terminators exploded my last basilisk, the interceptors sprinted 5, IK takes 1 hp off PuniPask, again shooting failed on my baneblade

 

Assault phase: The interceptors charged my chimera and killed it, the other squad of interceptors killed my platoon command squad, Draigo multicharge on the Baneblade and on my first squad of guardsmen, he takes off 2 Hp and the NDK didn't do anything, the squad of Draigo killed my first squad.

 

Turn 2 Zoraork:

Vendetta arrives from the reserves, 

shooting ends and the grey knights have taken a hit, draigo is gone, so are 4 of his termies, IK is down to 2hps, and 4 interceptors... things are looking down for the grey knights 

 

Turn 3 tomsev:

The IK avanced in fornt of Pask, and the Nemesis sets up asecond charge on the Baneblade 

psychic: Dissimulation on whats left of the librarians squad, sanctuary on the NDK and the librairian, hammerhand on the warlord squad

Shooting phase: The IK destroy my executionner and shaken Punipask, his terminator's psycanon roll 4 sixes to hit my vendetta.... And destroyed it...

Assault phase: The Ik charged my vets squad, and manages to stomp psk for his last hull point and slay the warlord, the warlord squad charged my punisher, the NDK killed my baneblade, the warlord squad killed my punisher, 

 

my turn 3

all i have left are my fleeing vets squad and 4 conscripts with their priest, i conceed:

 

Victory for the Grey Knights!

Do you feel the baneblade was worth bringing for so many points?

Oh it's ok even if i lose, i enjoyed it ! :)

 

For so many points, the baneblade isn't worth i think, but I don't have 2000 points of guardsmen without him :/ (I play since last year)

To be fair on you two dread knights and an imperial knight is pretty cheesy.

Maybe to combat it take 5 vendetta and cruise around the battle field deleting everything

Every loss is an opportunity to improve ;) Good to see a batrep up with pictures, also for the classic of gaming on the floor (there's always room for a game if you're dedicated ;) ) - just be careful not to tread on anything! :P Your opponent's list was tricksy, so don't be afraid to show him your own tricks in return next time!

You could always throw in a culexus assassin or two to eat his brains :^) fly him in on board a vendetta, drop him next to the draigo deathstar and let him do his work
