So full of promise and enthusiasm... An Ultramarine Log

Hey,

So I'm in the keen stage of painting an army; it's built *well all the foot-sloggers are, it needs specialists and vehicles down the line*, suitable characters have been built, it's been primed, it's been base coated, it's been washed and is currently in the process of being blacklined.

All good right?

Well this is usually where I start to falter, so what better to improve my motivation that a B+C blog that'll hopefully get a positive comment or two along the way. Unfortunately living out in the wilds of North Wales, there's no local gaming clubs to go play at, so the enthusiasm does dip because my chances of getting a game are pretty limited.

But enough of the morose thoughts, this is a blog with keen and vigor worthy of Guilliman, and I will finish it before the end of the year! That is my pledge and my oath, I won't fail it.

So, best give you guys some pictures right, otherwise what's the point of this being a blog?

The Army shot so far, mid blacklining.

GREY; cheers. It's been a slog so far but doing that many in one go means a uniform look to the blue colour. I want to try and paint a heavily weathered appearance that you don't usually see on Ultramarines so hopefully it looks ok when done. Fingers crossed anyway.

Quixas; they are indeed shot glasses, it made them a bit easier to handle when airbrushing on the blue undercoat. Problem is they're proper stuck in place after only two dabs of superglue which I though would be easy to pop off. I was wrong.

They'll come off with a bit of brute force and ignorance, but for now it does make them easier to hold and paint it seems.

BSS; it's on the to do list when I find my drill. I've also go all the guns that are currently still on sprues as well to do, saving that for a rainy day when I need to just chill and clean up 70ish bolters. :-)
