Slips
I'm thinking about running a unit of 7 Night Lord Terminators with a Teleport Transponder, 4 with Combi-Plasma and 3 with Comi-Melta, Chainglaive on the Sergeant, and one with a Chainfist. Can't decide Axes or Swords on the mob though. Tough to decide. For more general application Id go for axes for Ap2 but the loss of at initiative attacks might hurt the squad a lot if they die before swinging. How'd you do that Arac!? oh that's sweet arac how did you do that/where did you get that fist Looks like Abaddons power fist with the fingers bent Actually it is the cataphractii lighting claw shortened, then heated and bent around the brass rod. Slips
Neat. Only thought it was Abaddons due to the fingers being similar. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4180290 Share on other sites

Yeah I guess I'll just model them to where they could be either, that way I can play around with it and see what works best. Kriegriss
that is a kick ass banner as well man very cool and that's good to know about the lightning claw I would have never had the balls to try and bend the resin that far but now I might give it a go I'm assuming it took a couple of stages to do it but it was worth it I just ordered 40 magnets from KJ magnets and started to clean up the figures so I'll post any progress Heinrich I feel you're pain man that's why I have bit the bullet and just got magnets Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4180316 Share on other sites
Arac
Thanks Kriegriss! It is not hard to bend - even at one stage. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4180342 Share on other sites
Kriegriss
how have people found cataphractii legs for reposing does it work or are they to beefy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4180368 Share on other sites
Slips
They are veeeery beefy and have a very thin Kneepad that protrudes upwards. Makes any attempts a bit of a challenge. But they do have nice deep (thin) Hip Joints so reposing there shouldn't be much of a problem, imo. depthcharge12
I've found a sprinkling of power claws does well, but ultimately my unit is charging into 2+ save guys, so it's the axes that do the most. If you've got the points, I'd get fists for the ability to ID 2W termies and punch the crap out of Castellax. You can't imagine how durable a unit of 2+/4++ guys are. Really the unwieldy, I've found, hasn't been an issue. If you stick a primus Medicare in there, then they'll never die. TemujinZero
Axes and fists are balanced on models with pistols. On terminators I think fists are an auto-take. Marshal Loss
Axes and fists are balanced on models with pistols. On terminators I think fists are an auto-take. I agree with this, the cost for upgrading to fists from a power weapon is minimal anyway & it makes Terminators a threat to nearly everything at all points levels, from Primarchs to monstrous creatures. Well I wouldn't have the points for 6 powerfists (glaive on the Sgt.) unless I dropped the combi-weapons. What would be more worthwhile? Shooting, Fists, or dropping a man to give the rest fists? TemujinZero
I'd drop a man, but you're better off deciding for yourself based on what your opponents are bringing, the rest of your list, and the models you have available. Brother Heinrich
yeah I dont wanna turn this into an army list thread or anything, but the rough list is:• Jetpack Praetor • Contemptor in Pod • Deep Strike Terminators • Outflanking vets in rhino • Outflanking vets in rhino • Night Raptors • Jetbike squad • Deathstorm Pod • Deathstorm Pod • Konrad Curze That's my 2500 list, basically stuff deep strikeing, outflanking, or boosting up the field at breakneck speed. Fluffy and all that business. What I'm trying to figure is if a 6-Man Terminator squad with fists and combi-weapons is better than dropping one plasma gun from each veteran squad so I can add a 7th Terminator with a combi-weapon and fist. With the 7-man group I'm thinking of running a 4/3 split of Combi-Plasma/Combi-Melta. Kriegriss
so in my reckless haste to add cataphractii terminaters to my legion force I did not notice that all the weapon sets don't come with the shoulder pads so you can't magnatize them any ways as you cant complete more then one set of arms ,is there any way around this I have researched recasting some but buy the time I pay out for all the stuff I may as well just buy more terminators (WHAT THE HEY FORGEWORLD) does any one have experience with this at all on another note where did you get that lovely banner arac Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4184142 Share on other sites
Slips
Magnetize the top Shoulder bit (use thin, ferrous, metal strips on the underside, magnets in the actual shoulder) and the actual arm? That way you can swap arms and not have a shoulder pad deficiency? Kizzdougs
so in my reckless haste to add cataphractii terminaters to my legion force I did not notice that all the weapon sets don't come with the shoulder pads so you can't magnatize them any ways as you cant complete more then one set of arms ,is there any way around this I have researched recasting some but buy the time I pay out for all the stuff I may as well just buy more terminators (WHAT THE HEY FORGEWORLD) does any one have experience with this at all on another note where did you get that lovely banner arac I did what Slipstreams suggested for my heavy weapon terminators, glueing the upper shoulder pad to the main body and then magnetising the individual arms. I was working with Tartaros armour but the same method should work for the Cataphractii. In fact it should be even easier because the Cataphractii shoulder pads are far more open and accessible. Plus the Tartaros shoulder pads come in two different pieces, an upper and lower piece (and then the arm underneath), where as the Cataphracti set up is one upper pad and then the arm. It's impossible to tell by just looking, but the plasma blaster arm on this terminator is magnetised. I've also got the heavy flamer and autocannon magnetised so I can swap them in and out as I please. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN3554_zps0rsxvfa1.jpg Hope this helps :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4184164 Share on other sites
Kriegriss
thanks for the tips fellas I will look for mag strip slips thanks and I'll see if I can put the shoulder pads on the bodies it just looked like from a cursory glance that the orientation tabs would make it difficult to attach/detach the arms and they don't seem to overlap very much of the body but I didn't try to hard thanks again and buy the way Kizzdogs that EC terminator is boss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314027-terminators-opinions/page/2/#findComment-4184316 Share on other sites
