Syphid
Hello, I saw this model over on Faeit and I got inspired to do something similar, but I don't have a lot of experience with drills so I was looking for some advice for tools and technique for removing the skull helmet and replacing it with a different one. Any ideas on how I could do this? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WNYWdQZ2BQ0/VgeLH-fL7hI/AAAAAAAA5RI/SicBbEHBWb0/s1600/DA_Lib.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314209-removing-skull-helmet-from-terminator-chaplain/ Share on other sites
Lucien Eilam
Clippers will do most of the work. A Dremel with a cutter bit would be a very fast way of doing the rest, but you can simulate that by drilling a hole and manually spinning a curved hobby blade (something like an X-ACTO #18 or #104) in the hole to hollow it out from there. Shouldn't take more than a minute or two with Finecast. If yours is metal, er… borrow a Dremel? Atia
yeah, removing the head from a finecast model is easy - if you have a metal one ... tbh, i would buy a finecast version for conversions xD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314209-removing-skull-helmet-from-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-4190640 Share on other sites
Jofus
Just as a quick reminder in most cases you will have to choose if you want to destroy the helmet and save the body or destroy the body and save the helmet. Which sounds like in your case you are not wanting to keep the helmet so it should be no problem.
