Dolchiate Remembrancer: Now that would be telling. You'll just have to wait and see. tongue.png There are a few clues, if you are willing to look.

MikhalLeNoir: Sorry to disappoint, it's a double headed eagle, so no 2nd legion stuff, at least for the meantime. msn-wink.gif

Sorry it's been a while. Real life has been a bit hectic.

Just a very early PIP shot. Apologies for the photo quality. It's just silver basecoat washed with Nuln Oil at the moment.

Can you guess their legion yet?

Not Iron Hands either Ty_Tyrant89.

Like I said, it's early painting in progress, so they won't be silver once they are done. The next PIP picture will give it away, but until then, feel free to keep guessing guys.

I was able to get a break from work to spend some time modelling today. Here is my Palatine Prefector. He's the first member of a squad of Palatine Blades I intend to build. The plan is to have a mix of phoenix spears, power weapons and charnabal sabres, where every member has a unique weapon. I'll probably end up magnetizing their backpacks.

I'd like some help with the posing.

Option 1

Or Option 2?

Feel free to suggest a 3rd pose. His left arm, head and right hand are unglued.

C&C welcome.

For pose 2 I was trying to achieve a duality to the model, where he could either be reaching out an outstretched hand to someone who needs his help, or he could be beckoning an enemy forward to fight him. I'm not sure if the model achieves this in its current incarnation.

Any suggestions as to what he should be holding?

Cheers.

It is indeed. Glad you like it. I was going for a trident-ish vibe, but found that three blades was a bit clunky. The perfectionist in me wants to redo it, as one blade is a mm or so higher than the other, but it should suffice for tabletop.

Like I said, he's the first of my Palatine Blades, and I want them to all be individual with unique weapons, whether they be trophy weapons won from other legions, or otherwise.

Hard to say really, but the first option looks a little better to me. There is just something about that pose that I like.

+1 :)
