Aqui
Hello! A question I've been having since becoming serious about collecting Sisters is - How do I transport them? To a degree, the Sisters themselves present only a small problem (I have some KR foam that I can cut to shape). However, units such as the Exorcist which are significantly taller than most other models are more the problem for me. I considered getting the new small case from GW for my Sisters, but I still have the issue of moving an Immolator, an Exorcist and a Penitent Engine. Does any of my fellow Sisters have examples of how they transport their models? Any ideas or pictures will be greatly appreciated! WarriorFish
I've always made use of old boot boxes with a healthy supply of bubblewrap and foam. Coating the box with bubblewrap does wonders for settling them, then it's just a matter of placing the models in with appropriate protection. For regular sized things such as tanks you can positing foam in between to brace them, for odder shapes like PEs wrapping them in their own individual bubblewrap blankets first sees them through. The key I've found is to make sure you pad well with intercostal foam - if the models don't move then they will be safe in transport as long as you're not silly with the box :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314411-transporting-sisters/#findComment-4186649 Share on other sites
Aqui
I must admit I hadn't considered bubble wrap. I have a few boxes similar to shoe boxes, so I'll have to look into it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314411-transporting-sisters/#findComment-4186665 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Also good for chucking extras in to help fill up space (such as dice, measuring sticks etc). It's just a matter of enough bubblewrap and foam, and a bag suitable to carry the box and you're set. Usually it's just the one box so a larger carrier bag does the trick but for the odd time I needed more (such as Apoc) then I ferret them into a kitbag. Never had any damage from it either and I've carried all sorts to battle in these old boxes :) When in doubt shove in more bubblewrap and you can't go wrong :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314411-transporting-sisters/#findComment-4186686 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
The top-gubbins for my vehicles are all removable and fit neatly inside the passenger compartments of the tanks, or failing that have their own hole in the foam. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/KaguraHakubi/IK%20and%2040K/WP_20150119_002_zpsce6475d0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314411-transporting-sisters/#findComment-4186721 Share on other sites
Grgobart
I used to do makeshift transportation in the beginning as well, but someday I got fed up, not by the packing at home, there's plenty of time there, but by packing up after a long day of gaming at the store! So I rounded up these no longer used cases from friends and family and created a lovely home for my sisters, where each and every model has its place. All of my sisters have a number, corresponding to their intended spot, writen into the underside of their base. Might sound a bit weird, but it sure beats having to re-comprehend how I had packed my army, after just having fried my brain by playing for some eight hours. Sister Rosette Soulknyt
I use the Larger KR Multicases, on holds all my vehicles and the other over 300+ troops Larger case actually holds: 1 Rhino, 7 Immolators, 3 Repressors, 4 Excorsists, 6 Penitant Engines, Avenger Strike Fighter, and still has room for another Repressor yet. Smaller (not really small), holds as mentioned all my troops, and still has room for about another 100+ miniatures, i even have a Aegis Defence line and Promethium Pipes in there too. Go with something a bit more expensive, the GW cases are plastic, can break and if crushed/dropped will lead to crying as you fix your SoB.. P.S: the KR cases deal D Strength damage to anyone who you believe to be a Heretic. Naminé
I use 2 KR cases which currently have room for all of my Sisters models... just. Any more and I'd need another one. I laid all of my tanks on their sides to maximize space. I'll try and get a picture next chance... Montford
I used to use various styles of tackle boxes and foam/bubble wrap. Now I have Battlefoam trays in a big rolling case.
