nismogrendel
I'm working on painting a brown robe. I'm not sure where to go from here. I started with mournfang brown, then washed with agrax. Can you take a look at the image and suggest where to go from here? (ignore the weird heel highlight, I need to get rid of that I think) http://i.imgur.com/mOCsLKq.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314487-quick-question-about-dark-brown-robes/ Share on other sites
GrandMagnus
I would say you should mix mournfang brown with steel legion drab. Since it looks like a monk robe, heavy cloth, I would suggest a couple of light drybrushes to give it some texture. I'm no expert in robes, most of my skill is related to armor :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314487-quick-question-about-dark-brown-robes/#findComment-4188199 Share on other sites
Father Mehman
You could drybrush a 1:1 mixture of Mournfang Brown with Steel Legion Drab followed by a drybrush of pure Steel Legion Drab. That would give you a cloth-like texture. Wait, ah! My reading skills are off again. Do what Magnus said because he hit the nail on the head! nismogrendel
I did what you both suggested, worked great! Will be posting it up in the Heroes of the Guard thread soon :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314487-quick-question-about-dark-brown-robes/#findComment-4188353 Share on other sites
