In fact I'm loath to take specialist termies in termy heavy armies as you need to be working hard at killing in every phase. A squad like I mentioned is good in a mixed army, not a pure or heavy DW one.The humble Stormbolter alongside those cannon are needed for horde control and Power Fists are just as deadly as Thunder Hammers, the Champ is the only thing I would definitely take every time and the only clear winner to me of a DWCS over a normal DW squad. The best CC squad we can field is our Knights, stick with them for pure CC, let the DWCS have some flexibility. IMHO of course. :D bs Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Father Mehman Posted October 7, 2015 Share Posted October 7, 2015 I have two different Command Squads: one is equipped with the Chapter Banner and the other has a Company Standard. I assume the number of Company level Command Squads will expand as the number of Companies grow so they will be outfitted separately. Each marine has not been named yet and I apologize for that. Command Squad 1: Brother 1- Chapter Banner, Power Sword Brother 2- Power Maul, Plasma Pistol Brother 3- Plasma Gun Company Champion Apothecary Command Squad 2: Brother 1- Company Standard, Power Sword Brother 2- Power Axe, Storm Shield Brother 3- Power Fist Company Champion Apothecary Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Hidicul Posted October 9, 2015 Share Posted October 9, 2015 As far as taking an apothecary, I only take that upgrade if I plan on running a librarian with the squad seeing as the look on your opponents face is priceless when you shrug off a perils wound from FNP. mika_angelus Posted October 10, 2015 Share Posted October 10, 2015 I lately use 2 commands squads in my 1500 pts. Battle Company. 2 units with 4 melta guns and a drop pod. For 130 points each its insanely cheap and effective. My favorite is Cs with 4 gravs, apothecary, sacred standard, power fist, lightning claw and two storm shields, joined by Ezekiel.
