TheHyperion
Hello Sons of Sanguinius, I have searched far and wide but have yet discovered a good recipe for the very very light blonde blood angels hair, does anyone happen to have such a paint scheme for it? (preferably in Citadel paints) Thanks! ~Sapphon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314489-luscious-locks/ Share on other sites
Charlo
I'd say just start out white, then very very lightly drybrush bone colours and then a little yellow to finish off. Could add a yellow glaze too to help out. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314489-luscious-locks/#findComment-4188296 Share on other sites
TheHyperion
Thank you very much! Blindhamster
Use one of the light sandy brown colours, drybrush/highlight with a mix of the brown and bone, give it a sepia wash and the highlight/drybrush with your sand/bone colour then again but with a mix of the starting colour and a bit of white or bone Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314489-luscious-locks/#findComment-4188399 Share on other sites
Nomus Sardauk
Seeing as we're already on the subject of how to paint hair, does anyone know how to make a nice brown hair tone? I just feel like giving a few of my BA something other than black or blonde, ya'know? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314489-luscious-locks/#findComment-4188831 Share on other sites
Xenith
These guys were all Iyanden darksun (Averland Sunset), a sepia wash, then very light strokes of erm...vomit brown, I think to give texture.  http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk141/Mechxen/Blood%20Angels/Death%20Company/DSCF0888_zps8fe3599e.jpg  http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk141/Mechxen/Blood%20Angels/Characters/DSCF0901_zps487458c8.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk141/Mechxen/Blood%20Angels/Characters/DSCF0902_zpscdd5485f.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314489-luscious-locks/#findComment-4188882 Share on other sites
evildrcheese
It's a bit labour intensive but this is a great tutorial for blonde hair  http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/259096.page Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314489-luscious-locks/#findComment-4188907 Share on other sites
SnorriSnorrison
What I do is the following: Â over black primer: Â - paint Snakebite Leather(or equivalent) in thin layers until you receive a full coverage - add 50% Bleached Bone into the mix and apply on the whole hair-thing, leaving the first colour only in the deepest recesses - add more bleached bone, start painting downwards strokes, imitating hair, starting from the parting (the parting on my dudes is in the middle of the head) - add Skull white to the last mix and re-paint over the downward strokes, highlighting them - add a light reflexion by painting a pure skull white "0" around the head, basically where light would fall in - wash with Gryphonne Sepia, repeat the previous step and you're done! Â I'll try to get a picture of that in here, if I find it.... Hope it helped!
