Daemon2027
Hey guy I've been thinking about starting a traitor guard army recently, using a mix of FWs militia models and current Guard and Scion kits. However I'm not sure what list I should build around. I've not really had much focus on 40k recently so I don't know where to look, and where I can build a fluffy varied chaosy list. I have the first two Vraks books, the Imperial Guard codex where the convict platoon guys were removed, I was also thinking about grabbing the Horus Heresy Tempest book cos of the list in there. There's stuff I'm not sure on, are Scions completely separate from guard for example as I am building a test scion model m and thought it would be cool to have some real professional looking soldiers next to the more rag tag militia. Iron-Daemon Forge
Armour 13: Lost & the Damned give you a full list for Renegades & background. You can use the Scion as Elite/Veterans, that what I've done for my own force because there just really cool models & that good enough reason for me. CoffeeGrunt
IA13's list is fantastic. Versatile, fluffy and pretty strong in gameplay. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314557-traitor-guard/#findComment-4189556 Share on other sites
Daemon2027
Ahh cool I'll add it to my purchases next month. Does it allow for allies, I was thinking along the lines of (dark) Mechanicus. Iron-Daemon Forge
Ahh cool I'll add it to my purchases next month. Does it allow for allies, I was thinking along the lines of (dark) Mechanicus. They'll be Apoclypse allies. You can still take them, just they'd set up 12 inch away. But if it against friends & agree with stuff before the game should not be a issue. End of the day I know your going to make really cool conversion of these models & that more important to me to be honesty. As you seen my own Iron Warriors has Chaos Knight, Chaos Guards & Dark Mechanicus added to them. Daemon2027
Yeah in some respects I'll be making stuff that doesn't really fit, it's going to be an Alpha Legion inspired force, and I plan with truescale Alpha Legion built using the 30k rules as I think it fits them best. And I definitely want a Chaos Knight. I also have the renegade inquisitor too. I'm weak I ordered IA13. Can't wait for to arrive Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314557-traitor-guard/#findComment-4189598 Share on other sites
Castellan Cato
Siege of Vraks 2.0 also has great rules, often better than IA13. Some highlights would be: unlimited zombies, Odnance tyrant specilization for massed artillery, and 2 unique formations. Although it sounds like you might be better playing "count as" IG to take full advantage of the allies you want. Especially if you want an elite commando kind of army, as R&H dont do that very well. In any case check out the subforum in the chaos section and post pictures of your minis! Median
Yeah. They can be really really powerful. Respawning trooped that gain outflank along with unlimited units of zombies guarding 55 point earthshaker cannon. My standard army was 2 45 man infantry platoon loaded with meltas that when they died they would come back on a 2+ with outflank. A few units of zombies guarding 9 earthshakers along with a couple of wyvern. I would place objectives close to table edges so when I did outflank I could sit on objectives. A brutal combo :^) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314557-traitor-guard/#findComment-4190343 Share on other sites
