Sisters (and Inquisition) Rise!

Recommended Posts

My collection grows! I just won an eBay bid for a metal brother-captain (and three metal power armored Grey Knights that I'm not really likely to use) for about $10. Woo!

If my eBay luck holds out, I'll soon also own all the Grey Knights terminators I need as well as a beat up valkyrie to refurbish...

Nice - I have GK's too, and they can be a cool ally for Sisters. Also, well done on choosing the old metal GKs!  I love those models.  They seem a lot more characterful than the new plastics...

Well, a metal brother-captain. The others are in power armor, and my list (at present) calls for terminators. Still. If my collection grows (and who am I kidding - of course it will), I'll need to use them eventually...

Interesting... so it looks like the only bits I need to repair my damaged Valkyrie and can't buy are those to make the tail. I'm thinking of just hacking it off and replacing it with a Stormraven tail (which I can buy for about $3). Can anyone with photoshop skills show me what that would look like? A little slimmer, I think.

Okay, guys. This whole project has given me an idea for my most ambitious scratchbuild yet. I'm going to take the left over bits from my Fellglaive (which came with most of a Baneblade chassis, a lot of which it didn't use), a ton of plasticard, and a couple of Basilica Administratum kits to make... the Mobile Basilica of Saint Abigail. Picture a non-ruined Basilica Imperialis with four heavy bolter emplacements, room at the top for a statue (I'm thinking of using the Reaper Angel of Life) and a magnetized slot for a Quad-Gun, all of it on Baneblade-sized tank treads.

This is going to be awesome.

I will come back later with a scan of my sketches.

Hey, all. I thought I'd post a few pictures of where I'm at so far.

A psyker for my Inquisitor made from a Mechanicum thingy.

The first of the two tread assemblies for my mobile basilica is nearly complete!

He's really doing it!!!biggrin.png

You can tell a project is going to be awesome when people post things like this!

Anyway, in case I lose them later, I'll post the dimensions of an Imperial Bastion: 5.5'' x 5.5'' at the base, with an upper platform 5.5'' off the table and battlements rising to 7'' off the table at their highest point.

I'm not going to adhere to that slavishly, of course, but it will give me a good starting point.

Oh! By the way, I got in a fun game vs. Dark Eldar tonight. My Sisters were victorious 7 to 3, with two objectives and Linebreaker. The battlefield was littered with limp faerie corpses. My rhinos proved surprisingly durable against darklance fire, and... let's just say that flamers are good weapons when all your opponent's vehicles are AV 10 and Open Topped! :D

This is an interesting thread, and there's some promising stuff appearing here so far. smile.png

Weirdly, I put together a similar army just last week, including my Inquisitor, Sisters, Grey Knights and an Assassin. What does your army list look like? Mine got pasted the other night by stealthed, shrouded, jinking, you name it, Tyranids. It was a fun game though and the army is very fluffy.

The game was interesting. I rolled really poorly the entire game, but I made some good choices pre-deployment. Specifically, I won the roll-off to place our three objectives and ended up clustering them as closely as I could in what became my opponent's deployment zone. Thus, as the Dark Eldar tried to maneuver around to my flanks, I simply drove my rhinos directly down his throat. The Dominions and their Immolator and my Inquisitor in his Chimera (who got Scout from the Liber Heresius) lead the charge, with the ordinary battle sisters squads following up.

It was basically a race to see who could pop whose transports first, because my metal boxes were the only thing protecting me from his Poison attacks and his metal boxes were the only thing protecting him from my overwhelming 12'' range firepower. His jink saves were on fire, but my cover-ignoring Dominions and high-rolling Exorcist carried the day. It also helped that I was able to mark his lance-boats for death early in the game (thanks, Dominions and Immolator!) which rapidly diminished his ability to do anything about my rhinos.

TL;DR version - I forced him to get close to my Sisters. It didn't end well for him.

That's for sharing that man! Sounds like a fun game though. You have a similar list to what I took, but probably just used it far better. I chose really badly on my psychic disciplines looking back. The Canoness killed two Carnifexes though, so she was pretty hot. happy.png

I gotta say... the Sister Hospitaler is a really gorgeous model. I just got mine stripped and... the details are so crisp! It really doesn't look like the same generation of minis as the rest of the Sororitas line.

I can't wait to run four heavy flamers and a Hospitaler in a Repressor... all I need to do is find some way to make a freaking Repressor...

  • 2 weeks later...

Guys. Guys. GUYS!

I just got my package from the dude I traded away my Everblight to, and by Him on Earth, it's a hell of a haul. Let me tell you what I got:

  • 12 ordinary-looking sisters with bolters and 1 ordinary sisters with a banner/simulacrum/thing
  • 2 sisters with storm bolters (not great, I know, but maybe good for a retributor superior?)
  • 2 sisters with meltaguns
  • 1 sisters with a flamer
  • 1 sisters with heavy bolter
  • 1 sisters with heavy flamer
  • 1 sisters with multi-melta
  • 2 sisters with power weapons (one with a power axe, the other with a power maul/thunder hammer and a plasma pistol that's an AWESOME conversion)
  • 4 seraphim with bolt pistols
  • 1 seraphim with hand flamers
  • 1 seraphim with a power sword
    • All seraphim have had the dorky little foot-stems neatly hacked off, a hole drilled for a flight stem, and came with flight stems and bases
  • 1 metal crusader
  • 1 metal priest with power sword
  • 1 vindicare assassin
  • 1 INCREDIBLY freaking awesome model that I can't identify... it looks like a guy on his knees, locked into chains and a bondagey-looking mask, and metal cables that he seems to be controlling with his mind. Definitely useful as a psyker.
  • 1 creepy cyber-cherub thing - the one dragging a bolter along the ground.

And also a fat sack of bits, including...

  • A few awesome techno-gothic tank bits
  • A bunch of Dark Angels (but easily convertable) tank scrolls and censors and books and stuff.
  • A plastic robot arm holding a power sword.
  • A plastic giant chainsword, probably from some kinda Imperial Guard walker thing? Looks like it would be great to make into an eviscerator.
  • Two riot shields, I think they're from the old arbites models that used to be available?
  • A bunch of Grey Knight shoulder shield things.
  • Two books, (one the canoness book-in-hand, the other a random pewter book bit).

I am super thrilled. Perhaps I'll post some pictures later.

I think that model is a Daemonhost. Basically, some Inquisitors use slaves to bind a Daemon to. Usually to gain the bound Daemon's knowledge.

Hm, yeah. Good point. Well, I can probably use it as either. It's not quite as daemonic-looking as the daemonhost I already own, which is why I didn't recognize it at first.

I'm not saying that it is for certain. I'm no expert on Inquisition models laugh.png In any case, that list is a serious haul! thumbsup.gif
