jimbo13
Hey folks, Like the title says!!! How on earth do I sculpt unification era lightning bolts? Didn't see it specifically in tutorials so I was curious if the community had sage advice/wisdom? Pictures would be helpful. Thank you everyone!!! -Jimbo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314590-suggestions-on-how-to-sculpt-unification-lightning-bolts/ Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
I've done a few lightning bolts and Raptor Imperials icons here and there. http://i.imgur.com/344D1Pe.png http://i.imgur.com/fxnZfdz.png Like a lot of sculpting, it's all about breaking down what you're wanting to do into simple shapes. For the skinny bolts on the Raptor Imperialis, I broke it into three different little lines and joined them together. For the chunkier bolts on the dreadnought's chest, it's two shapes - a rectangle and a thin scalene triangle. To make it easier, you might sculpt them on a flat surface instead of on the model iteslf so you can then remove them and glue them into place later. I would also suggest having reference material handy any time you're sculpting something. Atia
what BCK said - model it on a flat surface and if you are happy with it, add it to the model^^ i would also use not pure green stuff, but a mix of miliput and green stuff, that makes it easier to work with and it gets realy hard once it's dry^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314590-suggestions-on-how-to-sculpt-unification-lightning-bolts/#findComment-4190339 Share on other sites
