Ishagu
Horus is an absolute beast compared to Guilliman. I threw Chronus in there for a regular infantry reference... Son of Carnelian
Didn't realize just how small standard Space Marines are in comparison to the primarch models. Look at the wee little chap! Atia
Ishagu :o do you have a WIP or showcase thread for them? they are awesome :O (and yeah, all Primarchs are rather big - besides Angron, who looks to small imo :/) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191075 Share on other sites
Fire Golem
Angron is meant to be one of the smaller Primarchs I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191080 Share on other sites
Atia
Angron is meant to be one of the smaller Primarchs I think. well, i always imagined him as bigger/bulkier, but kind of hunchbacked^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191081 Share on other sites
Legatus
It is difficult to gauge from that image. Could it be just the Terminator armour? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191082 Share on other sites

Stoneheart
Those are really nice Ishagu. I always thought Angron looked small because he is leaning over as he runs. I think Vulkan, Perturabo and Ferrus are suppose to be the largest Primarchs. DuskRaider
Magnus is the physically largest Primarch. Mortarion is the tallest. Alpharius is (from what I remember) the smallest. Raktra
One of my happiest moments was realising that Ferrus' hammer head lines up perfectly with the metal CSM Daemon Prince's jaw. Corswain
The Genisis of a primarch video for Vulkan stated that he's the largest primarch. The model is pretty enormous, he's bigger than Horus but wearing power armor. Ishagu - beautiful paint job on all of those. You should definitely do a showcase! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191391 Share on other sites
Calas Typhon
As far as I am aware going by the fluff size wise, it was in terms of heights:- Mortarion- Magnus- Corax-Ferrus- VulkanWith angron and lorgar and alpharius being shortest Edit: In one of the short story anthologies it states that Magnus is the tallest followed by Ferrus and Vulkan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191398 Share on other sites
Charlo
I think with Guilliman and Horus, it's that Guilliman is in Artificer and Horus is in TDA. A D-B
I think Angron's the shortest because he was sculpted first, as well as his pose. Beyond a few forum assumptions, I've never seen anything saying he's actually short at all. I've always assumed he's pretty tall, as these things go. Beyond a few forum assumptions, I've never seen anything saying he's actually short at all. I've always assumed he's pretty tall, as these things go. I believe there is not much in the Primarchs size when it comes to the fluff, however going by some of the Art produced mostly referring to The Primarchs artwork, Angron seems to be quite short even if he is at the far end of the Ullanor platform. Then again this is down to the artwork and there really is not much in Individual sizes. But hey, this shows Fulgrim as quite the.. Well a Primarch with a face that only a father could love. Kriegriss
That is the First time I have ever really zoomed in and looked around on that picture and tell me if I'm wrong but it looks like Dorn is rocking a beastly looking lightning claw . Eh Gads I wish his rules had a cooler weapon loadout in game "Hi I'm Rogal the Preatorian of the Imperium and the Castellin of the throne world I got my weapons from a 40k Blood claw" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191454 Share on other sites

I remember it well. I think that's only because he's hunched over, though. Literally nothing else I've seen in any lore leads me to believe he's short. And more than once I've described him looking down on someone, so he's far from the shortest primarch in my head. I wouldn't mind if he was, mind you. No skin off my back. EDIT: On the contrary, it's kind of more interesting if he was. Hey, its not like there is anything stating who exactly is tall or short minus the 3-4 that are confirmed tallest. *Hint hint* If only there was someone who wrote about the World Eaters that could settle it for us! *hint end hint* ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191462 Share on other sites
A D-B
Horus, Khan and Magnus seem to be pretty big, while especially Angron looks pretty small in comparison. Sorta. I love Neil's work to bits, but the perspective is a little kooky on this one. The balcony is curving (look at the pillars between Dorn and Horus) , so Horus and Fulgrim are much closer to the viewer than the others, it's just hard to see. Similarly, Magnus is supposed to be huge, but looks about the same size as Lorgar and Sanguinius, and significantly smaller than the Khan, who he's standing fairly close to. So I tend not to use this artwork as a size comparison. Skalpynock
I think most of Perturabo's size comes from his armour. I sometimes see him compared to Vulkan or Ferrus, but it should be remembered that these two wore power armour, while Pert had Terminator plate. Fire Golem
Horus, Khan and Magnus seem to be pretty big, while especially Angron looks pretty small in comparison. In terms of actually written measurements, the Khan is slightly shorter than Horus according to Brotherhood of the Storm. Ishagu
And what of Lorgar? I was under the impression he wasn't quite the specimen that his brothers were. I can't remember any particular comparison in the first Heretic... Is it talked about anywhere? Raktra
I'm sure Lorgar's slightly less than average all over, but I dunno where I heard it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314628-primarch-size-comparison/#findComment-4191692 Share on other sites
