Legion Imperial Army support question

Yes I know we are left to our own imaginations, however.

Some imaginations tend to get carried away.

My question is this. Given an expedition, led by a primarch with his legion and the usual titan, robots and all such support, how much potential Imperial Army support could they have before it became unreasonable?

I'm talking about permenatly attached forces. And not so much raw numbers as regiments drawn from different sources.

For context I was rereading Legion. The 670th Expedition has no legion support initially but has regiment drawn from more than five different sources. Most primary legion forces seem to only have one source of army troops.

That's a lack of realism that is omnipresent in the whole setting. Every expeditionary fleet would need auxiliary forces in the millions drawn from multiple worlds. The ridiculous monotype regimental structure of 40K doesn't exist, so auxiliary units can be integrated into combined arms formations. The one space marine for 100 other soldiers maxim is a good benchmark for personal fluff. For every 1 legionary in an expeditionary fleet, there could be 100 auxiliaries, 25% of which are solar pattern according to conquest.
